UPENN Class of 2017 RD

Couldn't find a thread for RD's so I made one. Who else applied? Any ideas on how to spend time until decisions come out?

Haaaayyy.
Lol.
Being a gap year kid, I’m focused on getting a job now that my apps are done.

neat. are you planning to just work for your gap year?

Fellow hopeful here! Applying to the college of arts and sciences. I’m almost finished applying, just going to double check my essays tomorrow and send it off. It’s a pain that they make you send the supplement first. Oh well! Best of luck to guys, happy New Years.

I’ll probably volunteer in my community. I don’t have any money for fancy trips and what not. A job is my top priority…along with improving myself. I had quite a few difficult circumstances throughout my hs career, so this gap year is a chance to regroup.

Me! I wasn’t going to apply at first, but I decided to. I love Penn. The supplement essays are getting me though.

Me! Submitted my app like 10 days ago. Good luck everyone.

I did as well, spending my time in the books so I can pass those AP’s. Chem and Calculus are kicking my butt :p

Just wondering, what kind of people do we have here? I know most of you have been spending your time pouring your hearts out to admissions officers but I was just curious.

Hi, all! I just submitted my app today. Good luck to everyone and have a happy new year!!

My D got in ED. Good luck all.

I got deferred ED, so I guess this thread is appropriate for me :p

Hey Everybody!! Happy New Year!!

I applied about a week ago!! To me, the Penn Essay was the most intriguing!! What did you guys choose? movable, immovable, who moves or something else altogether??

Just checking, but the deadline is in approximately 19 hours correct? That is, it hasnt already passed, but iys at midnight today?

This is from another post:-
The Common Application records all dates (deadlines, form submission dates, payment dates) in eastern time. Schools not located in the eastern time zone may choose to extend their application deadlines to the end of a deadline day in their local time zone or may accept your documents up until the posted deadline in their local time zone (even though your submission time stamp will be recorded in Eastern Time). For example, a school located in California may accept your application until 2:59am eastern time, which is equivalent to 11:59pm pacific time. Since this is on a school-by-school basis and this is not information that is available to you, we recommend you submit based on the eastern time deadline.

Most colleges do accept the submission if it is within a reasonable time period around their deadline. However, I wonder why you left it till the deadline??

So the answer is…

Finally got my submitted this morning. Ill submit my next one tomorrow, glad to have that done though. Good luck to everyone!

Can we send extra ‘materials’ after the deadline?

I submitted two days ago  So nervous, so let’s hope for the best!

I was an idiot and waited until last minute… I finished my app on time but my short essay wouldn’t upload until 5 minutes after midnight! If I submitted at 12:06 do you think that will be all right???/:
