UPENN Class of 2017 RD

I tried talking to my counselor about the midyear report and he said he knew when the deadline was. Hopefully he won’t forget :/

My counselor only uploaded the secondary school report w/ transcript and it says satisfied 0_o

I’m on a gap year, so what should my counselor write on my midyear?

@nhiyenvo - same here!! No mid year report yet, but it says satisfied!!

Maxyend - I have the same doubt!
If someone could clear that up. :)

I sent my counselor recommendation, transcript and SSR form via mail. All of them are still ‘not satisfied’. I guess it takes a bit more time to unpack the mailed stuff and match them with students’ records?

Does anyone know when Penn gives out offer? I couldn’t find it on their website

^ What offer? If you mean decision day it’s very easy to look up.March 28th

My transcript finally says satisfied.

Still “Not Satisfied” here . :|

I’m very worried that my essays didn’t make it clear that Penn is my first choice.

@rebel11: thanks. i was wondering if i should still send the reference letter of my Easter internship to Penn but I guess it’s too late…
@guyinblue: My SAT scores are still not satisfied…

Ugghhh my parents are STILL refusing to tell me their income, and all these financial aid supplements are due February 1st.

Is it wrong to think that I have a right to know the state of our family finances? I’m a legal adult and my parents’ financial matters will obviously affect me very much over the next few years.

^ Well I do think you have a right to know your parent’s income but since college app is of greater importance right now, I’d suggest you give them the necessary forms/online profile to fill out on their own first and then later sit down and discuss such matters!!

That way it is a win win situation, isn’t it??

Finally Transcript satisfied! Phew
SATs left only.

^^ gotta agree with rishav17, that is nice advice.

Yeah, thanks rishav! I’m not really being pushy about it, because I really DON’T mind that they’re the ones digging up all the information for the FAFSA and the Profile.

Is there any way to submit the Common App mid year report online, or should I just give it to my counselor with stamped envelopes to mail?

cruxclaire - i think the counsellor can submit it online via commonapp. Its one of the forms. Just check to be sure though. :)

@cruxclaire - You can submit that online through your counselor’s account. In the same way as the School Report!!

Anyone know the tentative last date to submit mid year reports??

Also will admissions decisions be made without the mid year report? Most schools will probably have the mid year report by early or mid February right?

^ You HAVE to submit the mid year report. I don’t know the deadline, but Cornell website states that it must reach them latest by early February.

The midyear report is basically your most recent examination results and/or the change in your courseload/gpa. Even if there is no change, the counselor needs to point that out in the mid year report & send it in!!
