If I get in the first thing I’ll do is tell my brother and best friends… Then start ordering my penn gear!
If I don’t, I’ll have to suck it up because exams are the next day, and I’ll have to try really hard not to completely lose focus… But I’ll probably cry. A lot.

What’s the possibility of getting accepted if deferred?

I know this may sound weird but would anybody else rather get rejected than deferred? It was something my friend brought up the other day- she’d rather get rejected now than have to wait all the way until April. Anybody have any thoughts?

What if we get deferred and then waitlisted? Does that Happen?

Deferred isn’t too bad, but I can see why people would want to be rejected outright and not deferred and have to wait. Personally I’d rather get deferred though…
@mumford07 it is apparently possible to get deferred and then waitlisted! D: what a terrible fate!

Getting deferred is so annoying because playing the waiting game sucks!

I literally know exactly what I’m ordering from the Penn bookstore. I didn’t want to buy anything before the decision because if I didn’t get in I would feel compelled to burn it… Lol.

Legit had a nightmare that I wasn’t accepted. Needless to say, I started praying when I woke up lol
Must be the “one week” nerves setting in

I take having dreams of not getting in as a good sign. After I took my SAT I, I had a dream that I scored 800 in total and I ended up scoring 2350. So I think not getting in in a dream is a good thing, especially since I had that dream last week.

@Harrovian I had a dream about a few days ago that I got a 2600 in SATs only to wake up and realize that the total is 2400!

For me, the results come out the day before exams so I’m afraid that if I get in I won’t care about then anymore, and that if I don’t I’ll be too depressed to take them :/

Hey guys been checking out this thread for a while thought I’d join the fun. M&T/SEAS applicant! One more week guys best of luck to all of you. This is what we’ve sacrificed so much for.

@DarkerThanNight same boat here. Cannot imagine my reaction either way… I hope my grades don’t go down the tube.

For those asking, last year, about 1,030 ED applicants were deferred, and about 11% of the deferred applicants were accepted during the RD round:

Glad to see I’m not the only one nervous/anxious/excited about next Monday.

Amazing how that simple moment will change all of our lives.

Out of curiousity, who else here had an interview? How did you feel it went? I had one and I thought it went very well!

@mumford07 - I applied to CAS
@MadgeCJ - Had my interview in October, I think it went pretty well as well (hopefully it sways things in our favor next week)

@MadgeCJ I got interviewed in November. I got in all the points I wished to push. Interviews will just push over your application either way if you’re on the edge. It isn’t weighted that much. I judged how I did by emailing my interviewer saying thank you, and noting how she replied.

@MadgeCJ I did my interview in November. I think it went pretty well. We bonded over biking of all things.

I’m glad to hear it went well for others! My interviewer was super cool. I liked knowing even grown ups who went to Penn are cool ;)

I was also interviewed in November. It was awesome! My guy was super chill and talked about his frat. We are both from NY and went to small private schools so we talked about getting out of that kind of bubble and going to a diverse university.
