UPenn Class of 2018 ED Applicants

Mine was downloaded the day I submitted the applications!
They make the final decisions today, I guess?

Haha we’re so desperate to find out more that any kind of indication makes us paranoid

@mumford. Yeah, probably. Furda will make a tweet about it probably at some point tomorrow about final committee finishing.

Hi everyone!
I’m joining this forum very late, my worries seem to precipitate in these last few days…

Has anyone of you submitted an arts supplement?
You know how the commonapp shows a little green tick mark next to the section completed? It doesn’t appear on my arts supplement part…
This is an irrational worry because its not a necessary section, but I still wonder

Good luck!

@Harrovian yeah! I am being neutral right now! We cant really second guess what will be going on admissions officer’s mind!
Anything could happen

Oh yeah and did anybody catch The Big Bang Theory today?
It was so awesome!!!

@broadway9

I submitted an arts supplement too. Mine doesn’t have a check next to it either, but I think that’s because we used SlideRoom. On SlideRoom, mine says that it was completed / submitted, so I’m not worrying too much about that.

Mhm my counselor and teacher recs were downloaded 11.2. Parent agreement submitted, but then again that’s not something they really need to download lol

My friend got his Columbia ED decision today. His decision made me so nervous, idk how much of a wreck I’ll be on 16th :frowning: I just hope I’m at least deferred. Last thing anyone needs in second half of december is a dent in their confidence. Have you guys completed your other apps?

yeah even my friend was rejected from duke ED and it made me so so so nerobous!
This decision is really itching me @absingha

Compared to other schools’ ED release, Upenn’s is relatively late. Is this because of the ED deadline extension?

I think it probably is. My friend hasn’t gotten into any of her ED schools (Yale, Stanford, and Princeton)… Eek!

@Madge: If your friend applied Early to Yale, Stanford and Princeton, then she’s likely screwed* seeing as every single one of them *has Restricted Early Action.

@T26E4 I said she hasn’t gotten into any of them, and she applied through Questbridge, where in fact it isn’t binding.

Guys what does “deferred” actually mean in ED reply?

@miltonalex, it means that you’re application will be read with the regular decision applicants

Will a 600 in lit lead to an outright rejection from Wharton assuming other parts of the app are good enough?

it’s a crapshoot process at this point. some people get rejected with perfect sat subject test scores while others get in with 590 sat math test scores. if they like you and feel that you would contribute too wharton, you’re in. it’s unpredictable

A guy from Nepal last year got into penn with 1910 SAT other had 2040.
We cant really second guess what will be going their mind!

@mumford, i guess a factor they considered was that the guy was from Nepal, and they typically don’t get a lot of applications from there. so, they wanted to increase their geographic range, and that’s why he got accepted… ahhh the wait is killing me
