is it true that you have a better chance of getting into upenn if you live in philadelphia?

I’m from Texas, so uhhhh, geographic diversity?

I’ll be at Barnes and Noble studying for final exams (the decision comes out at 4 PM where I live). Hopefully I don’t have a mental breakdown when I get rejected, because you know, that would be embarrassing.

Haha Texan here too!! Diversity from the borderland. My decision comes out at 3 which I won’t be able to check till I get home. @flayev im pretty sure that there isn’t a better chance, since most applicants are from philly it might just be opposite but idk

@iamoym I’m thinking about opening it at Starbucks, but ahhh, I don’t know.

I asked this earlier but am looking for a more definite response if possible… does anyone know if we will be able to view our decisions from a mobile device aka iPhone?!

I’m in NJ. Will find out at work tomorrow. So nervous! Good luck everyone ~

Actually, in recent years, the state with the largest number of applicants to Penn has been California (not surprisingly, given its population).

A plurality of Penn’s students do come from Pennsylvania, but that probably is because a plurality of their applicants come from that state, or at least I think a plurality of applicants do.

EDIT: Or maybe not according to 45Percenter.

^ Still, less than 16% of Penn’s Class of 2017 is from Pennsylvania. See my post above yours regarding California providing the largest number of Penn applicants. And I wouldn’t be surprised if another state or two (e.g., NY) also has more Penn applicants than PA.

This is from 3 years ago, but presumably still remains true:

i asked my mom to make quaker oats for breakfast tomorrow for good luck #desperate

@45percenter you might be right with the number of applicants, but the # of people that enroll is the highest in PA

[Incoming Class Profile - Penn Admissions](http://www.admissions.upenn.edu/apply/incoming-class-profile)

Oops my mistake, it seems that most acceptances are from Pennsylvania but the most applicants come from California - according to last years class profile

Another NJ person here…

@gloriouschicken hahahhahahahahhahahahahhahahahahhahaha too funny

I’m well aware of that, but as I stated in post #950, PA residents constitute less than 16% of Penn’s Class of 2017. And that’s a fairly small percentage given that Pennsylvania is the 6th most populous state in the country with a population of almost 13 million.

Californian over here woo

Michigander over here!

Jersey girl over here I went to a program at Penn this summer so I’m hoping that gives me just a little boost.

From Chicago!

From Florida here. I’m trying to just keep myself busy tomorrow. By the time I get home from water polo practice it should be around 5:30 which is good.
