UPenn Class of 2018 RD Applicants

^ That’s part of your Yale DNA (the bias, that is–not the lending a hand to aspiring Cantabs).

I applied RD. I submitted my application 10/23 and got contact for an interview about 5 days ago. My interview was last night… now, I wait.

How important was the single supplement essay for Penn? I was surprised that the only two pieces of writing that UPenn will be receiving are the common app essay and their own supplement. I feel like I didn’t get the chance to express how much I really want to go to Penn. Oh well, I’ll be sure to convey that in my interview tomorrow.

@StanfordMan
I actually loved how penn had one single why penn essay where I got a chance to talk about what I love and how that will reflect at Penn in every aspect. Academic service etc. It’s better than how most places did it. My common app makes up who. I am on the inside. My internal voice and thoughts etc while the Penn essay looks at me from a action standpoint. I just hope it’s enough and that I wrote well.

I applied RD for the nursing program. Total reach. I’ve looked at past threads, but I can never find much info about previously accepted nursing students

Does anyone know if penn superscores the ACT?

@PCLVRR There are somewhat different comments on that. They require all your scores. On their website it says, they will look at the highest scores for any test or subsection but I assume they will also look at your other scores.

Well, I’m in India and am still waiting for an interview. But would be great if some of you could post your experiences…Thnx in advance.

does anyone know how i can send an update to upenn admissions for my rd app

Look up your regional director of admissions on their website , and send an email.

Does anyome know how common it is for a domestic applicant to have a phone interview?

Quite common, but not having one, does not mean anything other than logistics. I know plenty of people who got accepted without interviews.

Has anyone not been contacted for an interview yet? I applied to Penn on December 25th and I live in Philadelphia so I’m having a hard time understanding why I haven’t been contacted.

@college3162, it could be either that there is no interviewer near you (highly unlikely since you’re near Penn) or that your interviewer is swamped with interviewees (more likely because of the numerous people applying from the Philly area). Either way, interviews aren’t as important as the rest of your app

D is applying RD for Nursing Program. She has been accepted EA to UVA and Deferred by Villanova so far. Anxiously waiting for these next few weeks to get here!

Hey guys! I just read on Penn’s website about “likely” letters sending out from mid-February. Is there anybody who received one so far?

I wish haha.

YES!! My Son got his likely email/video last Friday 14th!!!

Amazing! Congratulations!

Jealous! :P
