UPenn College vs NYU Stern

Reasons to attend NYU Stern:
-I know I want to do finance
-location
-better job placement?

Reasons to attend UPenn College
-I enjoy studying economics
-better university overall (law schoool, wharton, engineering, nursing)
-Ivy League
-has a campus

I'm seriously split between these two schools. 50% of the people i talk to recommend either upenn or nyu stern. Can you guys help me decide?

visit both... thats the only way. Only you know what you'll want

one advantage of NYU stern education is that you might not have to get MBA later on, thus saving you tons of money and 2yrs of time. my brother went to Stern, and he says that he and his classmates were so well prepped for the work force, so that many Sternies, like the Wharton grads, don't eventually get the MBA. Some do get MBA anyway, but many don't.

On the other hand, if u go to Upenn Econ, you are probably likely have to get MBA later on. this takes around 50k a yr tuition+board, plus the opportunity cost of not working for 2 yrs, which can add up to 200k or more easily.

i'm pretty sure that i want to get an mba later on

as a note, wht you learn at Stern undergrad will be very similar to what you learn at MBA, if not the same. It will be repetitive. In that case, i think that Penn Econ might be a better fit for you.

Penn & NYU offer different lifestyles. Penn has a campus, while NYU has New York City.

Of course, NYC is only 1 1/2 hours from Philly by train, and the train station is only a few blocks from Penn's campus, so you can always go to Penn and just visit NYC whenever you get the yen. :)

Penn will give you a more well-rounded education, and you have access to the world's top finance people at Wharton.

Having a campus is great.

I know lots of transfers from NYU to Penn, but not the other way around...
