Hi, Would aprreciate a Chance Me (Wharton BEPP ED) as I’m getting very anxious for decisions!

Asian, Female - no hooks

Stats:

GPA UW: 3.9/4.0 (my school doesn’t weight, but took 10 APs (and all honors/acc) including senior year-- 12 APs offered by school).

ACT: 34

SAT Math 2: 800

AP Scores: Calc BC (5), Stats (5), Comp Sci Principles (5), Euro (4)

ECs: District’s Vice-Chairperson (work with policy a lot), started 501©3 nonprofit and led other teenagers in completing 8 int’l and local projects, founded school’s philosophy club, MUN treasurer, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts Life Rank working to Eagle (yes they started accepting females), Kelley Young Women’s Institute, research experience in quantum mechanics.

Awards: Congressional Award Gold Medal, Girl Scout Gold Award, NMSQT commended, Women in STEM from a research org.

Recs: 9/10 very confident in them, was very close to my teachers and research advisor

Thanks for reading, appreciate any feedback!

hey! u should speak with either a college counselor or someone that is enrolled at upenn that could give u a more accurate Chance Me b/c there’s no way for applicants to tell others whether or not someone has a chance at admittance. we’re all trying to figure out if we have a chance ourselves  u seem awesome tho!

are you applying for financial aid?

No, I am not

Are there any available ED/RD stats for LSM (or other dual degree programs) from previous years?

Not that I’m aware of

is penn ACTUALLY need blind? especially with covid this year and the guesses that money is low, would need have even a tiny impact?

Penn is need-blind for most applicants. For those applucants, need does nit impact the admissions decision.

I feel you on that. I have a super busy Wednesday (2 two+ hour long tests) so luckily I can be distracted from worrying that day

I’ve applied to/about to apply to 21 RD schools so that’s keeping me super busy and distracted from constantly thinking about this Penn decision. I stacked my Wednesday (2 tests, a college interview, going to a friend’s) so that I don’t constantly worry. I’m preparing myself for a rejection…

Again I’m not ed penn, i ed Cornell, but our thread is super inactive but I just wanted to chime in that I didn’t do homework, besides everything I needed to do, so I would have a busy week and could be distracted before decisions. Glad to see we’re all in the same boat even though we ED different schools

It’s not as bad as you think. Many essay questions work for multiple schools. It also gets much easier the more I do since I’m used to the process.

welcome @bagelfan26, our penn hearts are open to fellow ed schools too hehe; a little last minute homework never did any harm

@bawbroncos21, fair enough; for me; I always seem to be writing new essays for every prompt, stupid me lol

Haha same, I’ve never felt like any of my essays work for other prompts, so it takes me forever to finish an app.

Also, I don’t understand how y’all can get anything done on Wednesday, I literally haven’t been able to focus on anything for a week lol

super nervous. i’m distracting myself with a lot of meetings and studying as well for monday and tuesday, but on wednesday i’m going to basically be free all day so i have to figure out what else i can do to make sure that that schedule is packed.
