Upenn ED chances....

whats up ppl, just hoping you guys could give me a percentage of my chances of getting into the upenn SEAS since i already submitted my app. well here goes nothing-

gpa: 4.57 weighted, 3.85 uw

sat: math 750, cr 790, writing 590 but 11 essay (i think i skipped a bubble and forgot to fill in accordingly)

class rank: 7/384

AP's: math 4, bio 4, stats 4, us hist. 3 However i didnt take any AP classes, instead i took all IB classes which dont really prep you for AP tests (i only took the ap tests b/c i forgot to pay for my ib tests in the beginning of the year)

current courses: HL math (like bc calc but harder), HL english, HL history, HL Chemistry, SL Spanish, AP Physics C, Theory of Knowledge

sat 2's: lit 660, math 2c taking in nov. expecting an 800 (i studied like a mofo), chem 700.

EC's: Played the indian drums (tabla) since i was 7, sent a promo cd with my app.

Work/Internship
Interned at UCCS (local collegs) over the summer at the microelectronics dept.
Private tutor in math for a 6th grade girl (about 9 dollars an hour pay). also 12th grade

Letters of rec.- pretty good, they all stressed my natural talent, strong work ethic, and my enjoyment of learning rather than "going for the A no matter what"

Essays- I thought they were pretty good, but who knows. I guess i'll consider them average since somebody on CC probably spanked them so bad that mine look like ****.

Awards: AP Scholar with something (i think it was distinction but not sure)
Principal's honor roll
District Chess Champion
Academic All State (tennis)
3 Varsity Letters (tennis)
Winston Churchill Award (given to student who perseveres through the most crap). lol this award really doesnt mean anything, my school just started them this year, its more like a "for fun" award. I listed it on my resume just for laughs.

Have another 2 or 3 but they seem pretty insignificant so i wont even list them.

Special Hooks/Talents URM etc.
I'm indian, but i guess that really doesnt help lol.

Any replies would be great, thanks a lot guys!
also could you guys please tell me my chances for Cornell RD and Princeton RD?

I like your usename, SexyYetiBeast! LOL
i feel bad for what happened to your writing score. guessing your original range is 2200+ You are an URM, and you have good stats, so I think you have a shot. I hope ppl in UPenn admissions dont mind about your writing
score. And why dont you take more SAT2s, so 3 of your SAT2 subjects will
be over 700? a 660 is not too great. I recommend Math 1c, since you will be getting 750+ which is good.

Indians are URMs?
Sorry about your SATs, are you going to retake for RD schools? It would make sense, since I'm sure you can do better next time.. :(

I disagree with pgcokie about Ic--if you can get an 800 IIc the Ic score won't mean much, I would think that a 750+ on it would contribute to your app less than even a just solid score in another subject..

i was just hoping upenn wouldnt care about sat 2 lit (i didnt even prep for it, i just went in and guessed on that **** lol), as for taking the SAT's again...probably not. in all honesty, im sick of standardized tests, i just hope writing doesnt count too much this year.

b...u...m.....p..

If UPenn isn't taking Writing scores very seriously this year, then you have a good chance ED. SEAS is one of the easier schools to get into at Penn, and I think you'd have a solid school applying to the College.

thanks man, just another quick question for you...hypothetically, if my scores were a lot lower, like i dunno 650 per section (granted these arent my scores), would my ec's and ed be enough to get me into the SEAS? I mean, the upenn range is only like 1350-1500, so doesnt that mean that most of the people score like only 1400 (m and v), hence increasing my chance of admission

"reading existentialist works
video games"

HAHAHA... I too love video games... and existential works in my free time...

Your ECs don't blow me away, so you'd probably have a harder time getting in with a 1300 instead of a 1540, and yes, if UPenn does not take Writing scores into account or thinks that your Writing score was probably the result of some silly mistake like not skipping a line when omitting a question, your SATs do help your case.

hmm i see where you're coming from, makes sense. oh well, if penn rejects me i guess ill just have to go to my second choice school....princeton lol

any more chances, tips etc would be great. bump

anyone? more comments, critiques, etc would be great

b...........uuuuuuuuuuuuu.................mmmmmmmmmmmmmm......pppppppp

I'm curious as to how tips would help at this point since you've already submitted your app :P

hahaha your the smart one, you know what i mean.... (right now i dont even know what im talking about lol)

low chance princeton... more like close to non

how come 0% chance at princeton?
