I really liked Penn when I was in its engineering summer academy this year. Im international (China) and applying for financial aid. The website says it would lower your chances by a lot, (so did the AO), and I would just like to know if any of you know ANYBODY who’s international and got in applying for financial aid?
*PS: Ask me about the summer program if you’re interested, or about the campus, happy to answer anything i know.
@nikhil99 My understanding of score choice is that you only have to send the ones you want. Since they want two, I would send you top two unless they are all good then send them all…can’t see how it could hurt! Good luck!
Wharton ed. Very unconventional student… Wharton/Columbia/Harvard are dreams… I am so not gonna get in though! but freaked out about everything anyway!
@Lateralus123 You used to be able to do that but after Penn’s change of policy this year you can’t EA to any private schools. So no, unfortunately UChicago EA is out of the question.
I wonder if this change in not allowing you to apply EA to private schools will hurt Chicago’s admission rate? If you are on the fence between Chicago and Penn, this might be a good year to try Chicago. I could be wrong, but I get the sense that overall Penn might be preferred over Chicago by more applicants so they will have to sacrifice their EA application to Chicago. So I wonder if there will be a little less competition in the EA round in Chicago this year? Something to think about.
Hello everyone? How many of you have started your common app/ penn supplement essays??? I haven’t and I am freaking out… Wanna see if someone is in the same boat as me???
@liaaep I have pretty much similar question since I seem to be in similar situation. An international student applying for financial aid. Please let me know if you find anyone!
@desie1 I might just be blind, but I don’t see anything that talks about applying EA to other schools on their ED/RD page? Could you provide a link please?
Hey y’all! I just made a CC account specifically for this thread lol. Does anyone know for certain whether or not we can apply to non-binding rolling schools (like Purdue and Pitt) and still be able to apply ED to Penn? I know this may be a dumb question but I just want to ease my mind, I’ve been v worried about this whole process. Thx!!!
Wait just kidding, ignore my last question lol…just read their updated policy! Alright, so we can def apply to other non binding schools when we apply ED?
