Hi guys So I have a small dilemma. I’ve taken the new SAT twice now - scoring a 1510 the first time and a 1490 the second time around. The first time I took it, it was offered through my school, so I was unable to take the essay portion (which is mainly why I took it the second time). I’m happy with my essay score from the second test, but unfortunately my composite went down 20 pts (darn reading lol). Is it worth it to take it again in October? With or without the essay? I’m scared my scores won’t budge much from the range they’re currently in.
P.S. I’m pretty certain I’m applying ED so I won’t be able to view potential Oct. scores before sending them.
guys by when approx will you all submit ur application?
@collegemomjam
“She has a great resume, tons of leadership and …, 4 year varsity athlete (swim, won states last year), …”
Your daughter may try athlete recruit through Penn Swimming. I personally know two swimmers, who are top ranked in my state, were recruited to Wharton this year (class 2020). While your daughter won state title, she’s most likely qualified to swim for Penn.
I’m thinking about applying to wharton…BUT i have mostly science related ECs since my school doesn’t have any/barely any business ECs. Will that harm me?
Will ED to Wharton!
Definitely will apply ED to CAS! Absolute dream school. I’m actually at the campus right now for a 6-week Pre-College Program The campus is lovely you guys will all love it
I absolutely loveeeee Penn!! Should I still apply ED if I’ve never been on campus?
@ZBlue17 I’m applying ED but ive never been on campus. I was thinking about touring the campus if I got in. But from what I hear, the campus is really nice! If you are certain you want to go, apply!
Hello Everyone! I am applying at Wharton for ED; however, I had one query related to SAT Subject Tests. Do I need to take at least 2 sat subjects? I am for sure taking Math Level 2 but I am confused about which second one should I take?
Thinking of applying ED to Huntsmen. Hope to see many of you there!
@tmck2011 lol same reaction for me. I was really excited at first and then I scroll through these pages and am like whoops gotta choose some good safeties
@happywharton thats such a good idea, is there already one set up?
@ShaunakK98 how much does the admissions office really weigh on grades and scores. Are EC’s more important? Grades? Test scores? Class rank? would you recommend applying if ur test scores were not perfect, but you have a good determined character thatll b exemplified in the essay?
the campus is amazing!!! it’s so beautiful and I personally found it really peaceful. Considering it’s in the city of Philadelphia it’s really quiet and enclosed.
Not sure how one could imagine applying ED to any school that they have not experienced. Making a blind four year commitment seems like a big risk. Just saying. There is more to judge than just the look of a campus. it is the vibe of the community, and how you see yourself…just saying
Does Wharton have a different acceptance rate than U Penn’s 9.4%? I’m seeing some people say it has a lower acceptance rate than U Penn as a whole? What’s that all about? I’m deciding whether I want to apply to Columbia or U Penn Wharton ED
Heyo! I’m applying to CAS ED :). Btw what are everyone’s scores? Also not sure if you guys saw, but Penn changed its early regulations. They now have RESTRICTED ED (which isn’t even a thing, no one else does that), where you cannot apply to any early action school (such as MIT/UChicago) unless it is public or foreign. :’)
@freemyboikodak Wharton does have a lower acceptance rate. Definitely a few percent lower, maybe hovering somewhere around the 5-8 range (I know, that’s a big range). It’s extremely close, if not the same as, HYPSM acceptance rates.
@freemyboikodak I would say that Wharton and SEAS are around 7%, CAS is a bit over 10%, and Nursing is a bit higher than CAS.
@doorealthe Wharton is probably in the 7-8% range, so similar to MIT, Princeton, Yale. SEAS is probably around there too, probably in the 7-9% range. CAS is rumored to be a bit higher and nursing a bit higher than that. The acceptance rate of the dual degree programs is more like Harvard, Stanford i.e in the 4-5% range. Of course no one knows exactly since penn does not publish individual school acceptance rates. Not that it matters anyway.
