UPenn ED Class of 2023

Ya I honestly think they weigh ECs and essays more nowadays so if they’re really good then yes

I think the 700 is fine, the chem exam is a hard one don’t worry about it

Yes I forgot to mention I did not submit SAT since I had a perfect ACT

I think your chances are really good. Your scores and excellent ECs will help you a lot.

Anyone getting more nervous after seeing all these chance me’s lol

@kindablue definitely!

I was considering posting one, but now I don’t think it’ll make me feel much better haha

Anyone can address my inquiry

@Acortez122 Scores in the 1400s are all a bit low for Penn, unless you are in the upper ranges like 1470-1490. I am not sure what TASP is, but EC’s and essays can probably outweigh the below average SAT if you believe they are very strong. Not much use in worrying since the decision will be out in 8 days, but you do have a shot just like everyone else.

lol if anyone wants to chance me i posted a thread like a month ago

I swear this is going to be the longest 7 days, 20 hours, 16 minutes, and 20 seconds of my life…

Pretty good chance, 36 act and AP ‘s and EC’s  all good :)I’m also ED in cas bio premed:) white female , eFC 0 . very nervous not that much about scores but about my scores but about my essays . Good luck

Aye can anyone chance me? My reassurance-seeking mode has kicked into overdrive

I’m Indian and I live in WA.

Stats:
3.9 GPA UW, 94 / 100 UW (What colleges will see), My school doesn’t weight. Technically not top 10%, like 6 people have higher GPAs than me, and basically all of them have 95s (lol), but my schools doesnt rank or report rank and our class size is only 70 so I feel like it wont (shouldn’t?) matter. Thoughts?
7 APs, most rigorous course load (counselor said this in rec).
36 ACT (36 English, 36 Math, 34 Reading, 36 Science) Sent
1530 SAT (740 English, 790 Math) Not Sent
800 Math 2, 780 Physics

EC Activities:

  • President of a large social justice club - Have done things like change the hiring process for teachers at my school, gotten notable professors from high ranked universities like Emory to speak to our students. I am one of three students on the admin diversity task force, which is a group of students and school administration who create policies together to address the issue of insufficient diversity in our school. (9-12)
  • Yearbook Editor-in-Chief - Doubled turnout this year. (9-12)
  • Leader of the Admissions Student Ambassador program. (9-12)
  • Leader of a middle school photography club. (12)
  • President of Aeronautical engineering club (11-12)
  • Former Intern and current writer for the 2nd largest English daily newspaper in India (11-12)
  • Internship for Progressive Congresswoman from local district - successfully led efforts to gain compensation for unpaid interns(11-12)
  • 100+ Service hours at the same children's club, treated as a senior volunteer (11-12)
  • Compete nationally in gold level squash tournaments, certified referee. (9-12)

Subjective:
Common App: 9/10, about how living in India for 3 years and attending an international school fuels my social justice efforts in America
Why Penn: 9/10 imo, I think its good. Talk about my philosophy on Journalism as a field and how Penn’s approach to education coincides with it. Talked about classes and organizations on campus.
Interview: Solid 7-8/10 but nothing insane.

Any fellow Huntsman applicants?

@Retrotech201 wait so you basically forced your congresswoman to pay interns? That seems a little… interesting.

@uwuowo I would agree thats a bit weird tbh

@uwuowo @collegeboi2023 not that simple but ok

decisions comes out in like 7 days lol. goodness. really not expecting anything tbh. the whole match decisions got me like. XDDDD I have a chance me thread if any of y’all wanna check it out

Retrotech201 , very high chance, sat, gpa, leaderships all good , very similar to my stats . but there are others just like us , so pretty much it depends on what UPenn is looking for at the moment . Geography, ethnic group , personality, and luck … otherwise most of us are very much qualified. Good luck to all

Anyone applying from MA?
