Bump… Please!

Bumpppp******

I wonder why you’re applying for CAS ad not the science school. your ECS seem more geared towards chem and engineering, so I’ll say you’ll have a better chance applying for the engineering school instead.

Well I don’t really want to go to engineering, but a science offered at the arts and science schools (or premed?) How would my chances look either way?

Thanks for the info btw.

sauternety36, SEAS is the engineering school. It has applied science majors like chemical, mechanical, electrical, biomedical engineering, computer science, and materials science. CAS has pure science majors like biology, biochemistry, chemistry, and physics. Pure science majors are much different than engineering.

In that case, good luck to you then! Your ECs seem pretty good.

Thanks. How do my chances look with ED? I’m concerned about my low CR score.

Well, other than the CR score, I think your other weakness would probably be your leadership roles. But that’s more for Whartonites, so I wouldn’t obsess over it. Penn was never one of the sticklers to high SAT scores, so make your application look very nice and shiny and you have good chance, I’d say.

ahh… i see, but what else does Penn expect for leadership roles. I co-founded a club at my school, and I’m on board for the Math Honors Society as well as the band.

Those are great, and again, there’s really not much you could do now except maybe emphasizing on one of your activities in your essays to make you look more involved and passionate about one interest. All in all, I think PEnn CAS is a good bet for you.
