...others i cant remember at the moment.. but no true "hook" per se.

look guys, i know that i might look like any other overacheiving Ivy hopeful. but i know penn is where i want to go, so i'm definitely applying early decision. does anyone think, since i'm applying ED, i'll have a good chance of getting in solely based on my academic merits and essay? i'm a pretty strong writer, so the essay definitely won't hurt my app.. i just don't know if it'll be original enough to truly benefit me.

also, my true interest is in the wharton school of business.. but i realize that it's harder to get into penn if one applies to wharton undergrad. i really just want to go to wharton graduate school eventually to get my MBA. my true interest is in business/finance, but i'm also a strong math student who actually enjoys math. would it really help me to apply early to the college of arts and sciences (which is supposedly easier to get into) and major in, say, applied mathematics? since i really like math, it's not like i'll be unhappy. i don't think it's necessary to major in economics/business to eventually get an MBA. comments/suggestions?

just wondering, if i were to apply to wharton for business school, could i consider my internship a "hook" of sorts?

also, regular decision chances at brown, william & mary, cornell, georgetown, hopkins, unc-chapel hill, maryland, virginia, college of new jersey?

as you can see, i have no problem working hard throughout college... although i do want to party too.. lol

thanks.

You might have better luck posting in the Penn forum.

Your stats won't keep you out, thats for sure, I think you look fine on that front. Your location (NJ) might be a strike against you... but you seem able to stand out among that pack even.

WRT Wharton, Wharton undergrad and Wharton MBAs have the same resources available to them for the most part (same classes, etc) This is why it is rare to see a Wharton UG pursue a Wharton MBA. Many consider it better to pursue an MBA at a more theoretical B-school (rather than a finance/acct b-school like wharton

UPENN ED is a door, essay is a key. GOOD LUCK
