Hey so I have been wondering about this for a while, but does anyone have an idea about whether applying to UPenn ED helps much for “normal” applicants. By normal, I mean no legacy, not a top athlete, not URM, no other national recognition, etc.
I have competetive grades and test scores, but Penn will still be a crap shoot for me.
I’ve found a lot a threads about how Penn ED helps legacies, but none otherwise.
For a little more context, I’m an asian female applying for a math major. No donations, nada. Does ED help me that much at all?
ED definitely helps ordinary applicants. I think there was a misunderstanding about how legacy works at Penn. Not only does ED help all applicants, legacy only helps ED applicants. They are pretty clear in alumni info sessions that if you want to get a boost, you can’t apply RD.
Penn is known for loving their ED applicants (55% of the class was filled by early applicants). It will help a lot to apply early.
