UPenn ESAP 2016

Hey guys, I noticed that no one started a new Penn Engineering thread for this year. Just in case you didn’t know, ESAP is Engineering Summer Academy at Penn. It’s the rebranded SAAST from previous years. I just got in to biotech for summer 2016 and was wondering if anyone else got in.

I got in yesterday to the compsci program!

I got into compsci too. Does anyone know how competitive the admissions for this program is? Or can anyone who has attended this program before give any feedback? I still haven’t been able to decide whether to go or not cuz it is a lot of money and I have to make the deposit in two days.

My son got into nanotech.

I got into Robotics! How prestigious is this course for universities’ applications?

Hi,
Just got on this forum after spending a year on the Musical theater track for D.

How early to apply for this program? What did you need? What about humanities kids?

@mtmcmt The late application deadline is very soon – May 13. This is a program through the Penn Engineering school so it isn’t humanities-focused, but if your daughter is interested in bio- or nano-technology, robots, computer science, or computer graphics, she might like it. My daughter is going for the first time this summer but I’ve heard from other parents that the program is quite rigorous and they will be working hard for the full 3 weeks.

Just got into complex network. How selective is this program tho?

Also computer science!

My daughter was wait-listed for the compsci program (and never heard from the again), so it’s definitely not the case that everyone is accepted. She was accepted to less-selective programs, e.g. Rose Hulman Operation Catapult. She scored 730M/720V on the PSAT, but her grades are not great.
