UPenn Fall 2016 Engineering Transfer Chances

Hi, Here are my stats. I’m trying to transfer to Engineering. What do you guys think are my chances?

Major - ECE (Freshman)
Current school -> Top 40 engineering school (very reputed private university)
Transfer Appplication -> Sophomore standing for ECE
GPA - 3.95

Course Rigor - First semester -> freshman courses, Second semester -> One sophomore course and rest are tough freshman courses
Citizenship -> International Indian (which is why I didn’t have AP credits)
HS GPA : 98%
SAT 2 - 1600/1600 (Math L2, Phy)
SAT 1 - (760M, 650CR, 600W) (Doesn’t matter much for transfer does it?)

ECs -

College :
Creating new sports club (Founder, President)
Part of Executive Board of a very important club
Active Member of 11 other clubs (Most of which are engineering)
Involved in close to 10 projects one of which is sponsored by my current school (they kind of searched for me).
Working as a Research Assistant currently.
One of the scholars of a very famous international organization (don’t want to go into specifics to keep my identity a secret.
Bottomline: You can find my name listed on this international organization’s website)
High School:
Research abstract done for research that I did
Won many national science competitions with very good ranks within state
Participated and won a variety of Competitions (MUNs, etc etc)
Awarded honorary title
Founded organization
… there are more ECs

Other information:

-> Seeking FA
-> Have solid reason to transfer (course that is not currently available here but is there)
-> Write good essays

More about the part where it says “founded organization”.

I basically created a social organization in the 7th grade. That is still functional and I’m still managing it till date in India. It started out really small but we are getting big now

What matters is if there have been other successful transfer applicants from your university or very similar universities and what were their stats. these are the people you will be compared to. If you took a rigorous course load freshman year of college and still got a 3.95 this will trump the low SAT score. I guess it comes down to how the adcom will view the rigor of your university and thus how impressive they find your 3.95 to be.

What do YOU think of my chances though?

Also I got As on my Freshman Writing Courses. Doesn’t that mean I have improved my writing skills. Plus the SAT scores that I reported were taken in DECEMBER 2014. So how important would that be?

Bump

bump

I don’t know the fact that you are active member of 11 clubs will help or not…It can be interpreted that you do not have focus…Just my thoughts…

I haven’t mentioned all 11 clubs. I mentioned just two of them on my common application activities section. No space for 11 and for other ECs. So I just selected two of my most favorite ones.

Anyone? Please?
