UPenn Fall 2020 Transfer Thread

Accepted to CAS! I already submitted by deposit for Northwestern, though (which was due today). Losing the deposit isn’t a huge deal, I’m just very conflicted on what to do now! NU and Penn are both great schools. Best of luck to everyone still figuring their college situation out!

Rejected CAS. 2-year cc transfer 4.0 GPA. 29 ACT. Two solid internships, one with a UN organization, another with a nonprofit. Also in a student government position. Guess I’ll be deciding between UCLA, Berkeley, or NYU for the fall unless USC works out.

Congrats everyone! My name is Maddie Braun and I am from Penn’s Transfer Student Organization!

We are so excited to have you at Penn and want to help you in any way we can with your decision and transfer process.

i wonder how many they accepted this year. seems like they prefer top 20 uni transfers considering i haven’t seen a single CC transfer on this thread or the ones from the past 2 years. oh well

Which major and are you transferring from a top school?

accepted SEAS, imo gold medalist for 2x years in a row

Hi so I posted after decisions were out and someone asked for my credentials:

Accepted as a sophomore at the College
GPA: 3.93 at top 10 uni

I feel like comparing extracurriculars and other stats is kind of fruitless because it must differ depending on your program, the story your application tells, and your university’s context. Plus I’d rather not share publicly. Feel free to ask privately and I’d have no problem sharing more or answering any questions. Congrats to everyone else :slight_smile:

@tfs73 Wait hold on for real? Where did you transfer from (another T5???)? If you applied as a freshman (back in HS) unless you had egregious grades/massive red flags you wouldn’t have had a problem in getting in

@gradientboosting were you accepted?

@Yankeefan20 Biology, and I transferred from UT Austin’s Biomedical Engineering program

@thatonelazykid Yo, I also got accepted yesterday and was (until yesterday) a student at UT Austin. Are you a freshman or sophomore?
