Hi yall! I realized this thread is pretty quiet assuming we still have about 2 months to hear back from Penn. Anyways I was wondering if there is like a statistics of how many student got into which school (college of art and science, wharton, etc…). Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe!
hey everyone! Hope you all are doing well and have an ample amount of toilet paper ;). I feel like this social distancing/online school/staying at home is making me soooo anxious as now I have so much time to just think about being accepted/rejected etc. How are y’all taking your mind off things? I used to be so good with all my clubs and activities at college and now at home I can’t seem to think about anything else!!
@IWantTransfer20 There are no publicly available statistics of how many students got into which school, but the common data set from the last application cycle shows how many men/women got in. I would check out page 14 in this link: https://www.upenn.edu/ir/Common%20Data%20Set/UPenn-Common-Data-Set-2019-20.pdf?pdf=CDS%202018-19. This is all the publicly available data from the transfer application cycle last year at Penn.
Do you guys know the CSS and Fin Aid supplement deadlines?
Hey! I can’t seem to PM you as well, but I’d definitely like some more insight about the proccess and your experience at Penn
@chancemeh the deadline is 4/13/20.
I’ve heard that regular decision admits went up from last year, does anyone know if that means they’ll accept more or less transfers?
Ive been hearing similar things. I know for all ivys and a lot of other schools the waitlist is HUGE this year for regular admission students due to the uncertainty surrounding the virus and the fall 2020 semester. i also read that more students may be getting accepted due to a lower amount of applications being sent in (harvard received 8% less applications this season, possibly due to the virus). i don’t know what this means for us transfer students though.
upenn regular admission increased this year with 8.07% of applications being accepted (last year was 7.44% and it has been steadily declining over the years with an exception of this year).
Hi guys. I hope you are all well and safe. I was on the UPenn 2024 RD page earlier this morning and I saw thar someone got in as a transfer last night. This person got accepted to Penn’s Biological Basis of Behavior (BBB) Program- congratulations to them . I am just a bit worried because I thought decisions would come out in May… Unless decisions come out earlier to those who applied to this special program. Does anyone know anything about this?
any rising junior applicants here? wanted to know if we can just completely ignore the mid term report section on the portal. if everything else is in, is our application considered complete still? the red x is bothering me
hey i am! yeah you can ignore it if you’ve completed 32 credits! mine is showing the same thing, i was going to call them tomorrow to ask. i’m sure if you reallyyy wanted to submit one though you could as an additional document, just a bit unnecessary. i know they like to keep the additional/optional documents they receive from applicants to a minimum so even if you submit it there’s no guarantee they’ll even look into it.
Hi azurepurple, I am also a current sophomore. I called and they said they do not require the midterm report for us and we can ignore that the portal says it is missing. However, if you want to submit it you can, but no guarantees they will use it.
ah ok thank u!!
I’m also a sophomore but I did submit my mid-term report. I know it is not required for sophomores but if you have good grades, it definitely wouldn’t hurt.
Wait hold up, I check the website and BBB is listed as just another major, not a special program . So it’s possible they’re releasing early… I’d honestly be fine tho if they decided to release the decisions a bit earlier.
how long did it take for your sat scores to show up? I sent mine in a week ago
Will there be any alumni interviews this cycle?
@AspiringTeacher Alumni interviews are never offered for the transfer application process, only first-year admissions.
Hi Y’all! I’m a transfer applicant:) I self-reported my SAT scores through the CommonApp, but it didn’t show up on my portal. I then uploaded my scores (just screenshots that I put into a PDF) through the upload materials part of the portal on April 1st. My scores still aren’t showing up. What would you guys recommend I do?
Best of luck to you guys!!
