UPenn Fall 2020 Transfer Thread

is there any data on the usual gpa and standardized testing stats Accepted Penn students have?

Pennnnnn please accept me :frowning:

I am Penn ready

pleaseā€¦ penn is the only hope I have

Has anybody been able to find any statistics on what is needed from successful academic transfers to University of Pennsylvania (e.g average gpa, average standardize test scores, etc.)? Iā€™m really trying to chance myself before we get our decisions on Friday

@yellowdress Didnt u get into columbia?

@Stanford2020 Unfortunately they donā€™t release that kind of information to the public. They review applications holistically, so while there may be an average SAT/GPA, it doesnā€™t define your acceptance chances. If you want to compare your stats to others who have been accepted, I recommend you check out the past transfer threads (linked below).

Hope this helps! Best of luck to you and everyone else on this thread!

Just a couple more days! Hope everyone is doing well with finals.

@fcbarcelona19782 Yes, but Upenn is my dream school. I have withdrawn all my applications from the universities whos decisions have not came out yet except for Upenn.

Thats understandable. I always preferred Columbia, but I love Penn too. Hope you get in.

Email sent to me from UPenn Admissions on May 8th, 2020:

"Dear Camila,

We will post admissions decisions on Friday, May 15, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. ET. Your decision can be viewed by visiting the Penn Applicant Portal.

We have enjoyed getting to know you through this process.

Sincerely,
Penn Admissions"

My anxiety will be the death of me!

Asked for an early read by one day (Thursday) and was denied.

Yikes.

Sorry, Iā€™m quite slow but what does an ā€œearly readā€ mean? Did they give you their decision in advance?

@10Paulo_Dybala10 im 99% sure thatā€™s what it means. like theyā€™d get their decision a day early or whenever they request it, but penn definitely doesnā€™t do that for any applicants

this might be a dumb question, but does upenn not hold the same name recognition as some of the other ivies? is it simply less known to everyday people who donā€™t really know colleges much? Iā€™ve been talking to a few friends today, and it seems that most people confused ā€˜upennā€™ with ā€˜penn stateā€™. has anybody had the same occurrence happen to them?

@stanfordgirl2020 happens to me all the time lol. my brother just graduated from penn state so whenever my extended family asks where Iā€™m planning on transferring to and I say upenn (hopefully!!) they still assume penn state (bc of my brother). just a small misinterpretation, especially since penn state is a larger state school that is more common in conversation (for sports especially)

@stanfordgirl2020 Depends on the undergraduate school. For business, Penn Wharton has one of, if not the most prestigious undergraduate programs. If you only get into CAS and only care about prestige, go to HYPSM.

The anticipation is killing meā€¦

Is it coming out tonight?

@PixelyPirate wait how did u get an early read? did you just call and ask?
