Upenn in my essay?

<p>I'm writing my Upenn essay. Do you think it would be alright if I called the University of Pennsylvania "UPenn" in my essay?</p>

The University of Pennsylvania, in most university publications/institutions/programs and all around campus, is simply called Penn.
