UPenn Legacy

I’m only in 8th grade but I am really curious about this. I heard that UPenn gives a pretty good advantage because of legacy, compared to other schools. My dad went to Wharton for his masters in Business and Finance and I want to go to Penn as well, but for engineering (specifically to study computer science or systems engineering). So, I was wondering if legacy counts if my dad went to Wharton and I want to go to Penn Engineering. Anyone know? Thanks.

UPenn defines legacy as parents/grandparents who attended undergrad or any of the grad schools. Although I don’t see that clearly spelled out on the website when I just took a look…but multiple sources (Eric Furda communications, student newspaper) have reported that definition.

Legacy applicants must apply ED to get any legacy benefit.

When it comes time for you to apply, confirm all this information directly with admissions, as things in college admissions change frequently.

Ok. Thanks
