eh i thought U penn releases their decisions on mid may.

Yes. He’s right about the waves though, I remember reading about it last year. The earlier on you’re accepted, the more they wanted you, so as the days drag on, your chances go down.

Brutal, but bear in mind the 16% acceptance rate.

In the meanwhile, what major did everyone apply for?

CAS Music here.

oh yeah i meant may 16 haha
it seems so far away…

regarding the waitlist, take a look at this:

"… the yield rate at Penn has risen substantially in recent years.

“Hitting the waitlist” does not necessarily imply low yield; rather, the need to utilize the waitlist indicates that initial admissions were made conservatively (ie, assuming a higher yield than likely to result) in order to avoid over-enrolling (as both Penn and Cornell have done in the recent past. Its harder to make accurate projections when the class size is larger.)"

so if they predict lower yield because of the economy, maybe less or even no waitlisting? it’s all speculation though.

Top Top, what major?

CAS biological science here

do they have any interview for transfer students?

Has anyone else found the Penn Portal to be somewhat unreliable? I have had 3 letters of recommendation sent to Penn (all in late January or early February) and they are still listed as being missing. Also, my dean’s report is listed as missing although I know that was sent in early February and all of the other 8 schools I have applied to have received it. Should I be worried or is this relatively normal?

I haven’t gotten a code yet =(

Violaghost-When did you submit your application? I submitted mine at the end of January and I didn’t get my code until the end of February.

I submitted mine on March 14th, so I guess it might be a little while.

CAS french and italian

yeah, I submitted on March 15th, but I need to know if everything’s in. how can I check?

and CAS PPE

We should get access to the portal… soon, hopefully.

i am freaking out. is there a midterm report? i don’t see it anywhere on the common app site. there wasn’t a specific penn app portal for transfers…

Yes, there is a midterm report.

[Penn Admissions: Apply Online or Request an Application](http://www.admissionsug.upenn.edu/applying/incoming.php)

Go down and click “Form 4: Mid-Term Grade Report for Transfer Students. (63K)”

important question about the midterm report:

okay, it says “school” right under where we put our name and address, but is that high school or the college we currently attend?

Im pretty sure that’s your college.

okay, phew!
