@kgiesch and @anotherdude where did you get likelys from?
@qwerty1309 not much really. 3 different volunteer jobs, sports freshman year lol
@kgiesch got a likely letter Penn
Haha thanks @chubii you would know
Yeah, penn nursing
@anotherdude Got his from Columbia
@kgiesch Congrats!
Has any one heard of any non-nursing LLs this year?
@IfnousWHO I thought someone said in an earlier post that Penn is only giving out nursing LLs this year. I read that LLs haven’t been shown to effectively persuade students to attend the school over their predetermined top choices, so that might be why?
@kuriosmind Thanks!
@bjones1782 the acceptance for RD is much much less than ED. Hope we get in!! I wrote on the 4th question (about the a problem problem you’d like to solve.). Ik that this is an essay which many avoid. I hope we get in.
@qwerty1309 I wrote about the 2nd option – failure. Also one that most would avoid haha. Yes I do hope we get in, even though half the class has already been filled in ED. Good luck everyone!
Jus curious , does the question which you choose for your commonapp essay affect your chances?
@qwerty1309 Of course not, you should pick the one that allows you to best convey a part of yourself to the admission officer, whether it is your background, something you learned, or your future aspirations.
@qwerty1309 I hope you get in too!! If not me I hope y’all all get in. And I feel like if you write and essay that not many lean towards it would up your chances because it will peak interest. They read the same prompt over and over so if somebody switched it up they may just pay a little more attention good luck bro
@bjones1782 you seem so optimistic and kind. Hope for the best and let’s see. R u an international applicant?
so i got a letter from upenn financial aid office asking for docs that i didnt submit lol. is it a good sign or nah?
@exl028 it just means you didn’t submit the documents lol. Don’t overanalyze these things.
Lol while you guys were talking about essay mistakes, about a week after I applied to Columbia I realized that in one of my essays I accidentally stopped mid-sentence (mid-word, actually) and started another totally unrelated sentence.
This is reason #1 and only that I have not re-read my essays
@qwerty1309 thanks I am originally from Pennsylvania but have lived in Alabama for 4 years now! And I try to be positive about it and learn from failure!! Either way we will all be fine! You gotta have a positive attitude
Ahh! My people! I applied ED to LSM, and got deferred. Looking through discussion threads is my coping mechanism :’) Did anyone else apply to LSM? Also, is it true that only 25 students get admitted to it a year!?
