<p>Job:
Lakeview Tutoring Services Est. 2009: (Founder/CEO): I had problems with money in my house, dad unemployed, mom sick and then got a low wage job. My two sisters were in Medical School, they had loans, but they also needed some sort of money from parents. I needed to help my family somehow by doing something I’m good at, (not selling drugs haha), so I started a Tutoring Company by myself. Then after 2 years of tutoring kids for an average of $10 an hour, I made approximately 60 dollars a school week, along with 40-50 dollars on the weekends, I can say I made over 3000 dollars all together.
My Essay will most likely be on the fact that I had struggles in my family financially and health wise. (when applying to business schools I guess)</p>

<p>Recommendations: (Taking 2 only)
1) AP Biology teacher (got a 5 on the test, 88 in the class) I am very close to him, He is also a supervisor in Carl Sagan (the math/science program I am in) where we bonded a lot. We are basically have a friend relationship, student/teacher relationship only during class.
2) The Assistant Principal of Math. She was my teacher for Trigonometry during my sophomore year. She will write only good things about me.
3) Business Teacher (helped me start up my business) He wants me to write it for him LOL.
4) Spanish Teacher (Best friends, seriously) she let me write up my recommendation LOL again…. haha</p>

<p>I guess my major weakness is my UNWEIGHTED GPA : (
Also would will my Extracurricular load hurt me?</p>

<p>bummmmmmppppp</p>

<p>Although nothing stands out and only 12 percent or so get accepted RD. How are your essays - they are as important or more than GPA or SATs.</p>

<p>

9 percent.</p>

<p>My son got accepted ED last year. I think his essays made the difference event though he had great grades and SATs. THe whole chance process ignores the essays so candidates that look good on paper may not be viable and the reverse based on the essays. 9 percent is incredible.</p>

<p>

Actually, now that I’ve taken the time to do the math, it’s 9.7%:</p>

<p>31,663 (total applicants) - 4,571 (ED applicants) = 27,092 + 1,100 (ED applicants deferred to RD) = 28,192 (total applicants in RD round)</p>

<p>3,935 (total accepted applicants) - 1,192 (applicants accepted during ED round) = 2,743 (applicants accepted during RD round)</p>

<p>2,743/28,192 = 9.7% (RD acceptance rate)</p>

<p>[Penn</a> Admissions: Incoming Class Profile](<a href=“http://www.admissions.upenn.edu/profile/]Penn”>http://www.admissions.upenn.edu/profile/)</p>

<p>But that’s still incredible. :)</p>
