UPenn RD Class of 2022 Discussion

@beezkneez1 when did u get urs?

I suppose it’s pretty random then bc I don’t see how I could get rejected from penn and accepted to Yale lol @writergirl0316
@Jise82938 I’m not sure! I checked today for the first time since December so for all I know it could’ve been there the whole time.

If we didnt get the IDOC form requested, does that mean we didnt get accepted maybe?

I thought Penn did not participate in IDOC?

@SW1807 thats what I thought but there are ppls who got IDOC request from Penn

Speaking to the discussion of the value of an Ivy League degree, you guys are thinking about it the wrong way. The kids who attend Ivy League schools are wholly driven, ambitious, talented, and smart—traits that are necessary for success in all endeavors. A degree from an Ivy League school, or a school of comparable prestige, does not function as the mainspring of success. Rather, it reaffirms the qualities those graduates already had—qualities they didn’t need an Ivy League degree to obtain nor develop. The fact that all of you equally deserve a placement at these prestigious universities is evidence enough that you will all be successful in life. No matter whether all your portals “regret to inform you” of your rejection tomorrow, or whether they all congratulate you on your acceptance, you were all merited enough to gain admission and, because of that, you all will be successful.

@Jise82938 wow that makes me nervous. I just checked my IDOC but nothing from Penn

For those of you who got the letter asking for missing financial aid materials, did you do the Penn supplement?

I didn’t submit the IDOC stuff, but they never emailed me asking for them. Does this mean I’ve been rejected?

Penn doesn’t use IDOC, rather Financial Aid Supplement. We did that back in mid-January online, subsequently we received 2 emails, one was automated email and another one 10 days after that states “Thank you for submitting your Penn Financial Aid Supplement online. You will be notified by the office once all of your financial aid application documents have been completed and reviewed.”

I submitted all of my materials and tax returns through the financial aid supplement/portal and they are still requesting documents over IDOC for me.

@matt4isu interesting when did you receive a request over IDOC?

I only submitted my FAFSA. Am I not supposed to receive an email asking for missing financial aid documents (because I didn’t do the Penn FA supplement to qualify for Penn’s FA)? In other words, is that reminder email only for people who did the supplement and didn’t submit all required documents?

@matt4isu well it can’t be true see the link http://www.sfs.upenn.edu/finaid-checklists/checklists-pro-us.htm
It clearly states “as Penn does not participate in CSS/IDOC Services.” Something is not right.

They still use the CSS (just not IDOC), so maybe it has something to do with that. Who knows. Do you guys have any college requesting for IDOC things? I have UChicago and UPenn asking, but I was waitlisted at UChicago.

Are you guys opening decisions alone or with family/friends?

Didn’t apply to UChicago and so not applicable and UPenn, no separate request for CSS/IODC. I still have hard time to believe that UPenn is still using CSS, as their website clearly states few times on previous link I posted.

@matt4isu Legit identical lol

It says to submit the CSS Profile under required materials and then says they do not participate in the CSS/IDOC so I have no idea. This is why I have trust issues.

You’re supposed to submit financial aid docs to this link (https://www.sfs.upenn.edu/forms/OnlineDocSubmitForm.php) not IDOC.
