We are beyond thrilled

@Junior010 Hey, I withdrew my ED app and worried abaout it too! Thankfully it worked out for the both of us, congrats!!

Since I didnā€™t post them earlier, here are a few quick stats for you guys:
1530 SAT
Around 4.2 weighted GPA
research intern at a local university, multiple national writing awards and titles, captain of district-wide speech and debate team
I had also been in communication with the Kelly Writers House before receiving my decision!

Would anyone know of chances in getting off the waitlist at penn or columbia?

Rejected

S is waitlisted. (OOS, 35 ACT, 4.1 GPA) Anyone know chances of being accepted from the waitlist or how long you have to wait? Still waiting to hear back on appeal from UT Austin.

@skieurope can you weigh in for UPenn wait list history and chances?

Using history as a guide, Penn places about 2500 students on the wait list, and admits 50 to 200, depending on the year. As with many things, past performance may not be indicative of future results. But at the lower end of the range, itā€™s 2% admitted from the WL. Mentally, one should prepare oneself for another school. Love the school that loves you.

@skieurope canā€™t disagree with 'Love the school that loves you". I guess we are on right path between Northwestern and UMich at this pointā€¦

Hereā€™s to hoping that others who were accepted to Pennā€™s engineering program may choose other more highly ranked schools.

Ranking is not everything. Fit is more critical than rank.

Penn admits a record-low 8.39 percent of applicants to the Class of 2022

Has anyone seen anything about financial aid?

I have. To the left of the video that congratulates your acceptance, there is a link that says ā€œPenn Plan Onlineā€. You click there, then click continue to see your financial aid.

@Volunteerism I have been talking based on other college admission, top tier schools have seen ~5-10% increase in applications pool, number of seats being relative static, leaves only one definite outcome, lower acceptance rate from last year. Top tier schools acceptance rate is down anywhere from ~0.5-2% from last year.

I got Waitlistedā€¦ I guess Iā€™ll put my name in the hat again, but not expecting much. They seem to put too many ppl in the waitlists.

@twinmomhell curious if your kids are URM, 1st generation? Congrats on the Ivy acceptances.

Fit is the most important. My child was accepted in a prior year to Ivies and an elite Top 15. She picked the elite top 15 school. If you are happy, you will succeed.
