Upenn saast!!!

What date did you send in your materials?

I did not know about the program, and when I found out about this program, I emailed them and they replied saying that there are still chances for you to apply. So I emailed past the deadline, and they gave me an email that everything was complete and all. It has been three weeks and almost heading to four weeks now.

The site said 2-3 weeks for your admission decision, so it’s weird that you haven’t gotten a decision yet. My guess is that the program is full but they are seeing if anyone withdraws, before giving you their decision?

@emirii: the enrollment forms are out!!! are you in Biotech too? xP

Hey! Thanks for your help. I got my notification today! I’m in! Are you guys definitely going?

I’m in biotech too, and I’m definitely going! (= Congrats to everyone who got in!
BTW: did anyone get their PennKey notification yet?

Hey guys I’m sorry to bother you guys again with a question but, did any of you apply financial aid? I got my admission letter but nothing about the financial stuff. Should I call them and talk about it? Or did you guys just pay all 6100 bucks?

your financial award should be included in your letter (=

“Congratulations on your acceptance to the 2011 Summer Academy in Applied Science and Technology […]”

the paragraph right after that should be it.

I’m in for Biotech, also
Does anyone know what SAAST is like? As in like, day to day stuff… I was trying to find information about it online (other than on UPenn’s website) but couldn’t really find any personal reviews…

hey emirii,

The next paragraph after the “Congratulations on your acceptance…” says “In order to secure your place in SAAST, please complete…” and there’s nothing about my financial aid packet. Does this mean I got nothing? or should I call them and make sure?

That’s weird. Are you looking at your e-mail or your official offer letter?

“Your [official] letter also includes program placement information and financial aid award, if any.”

But yeah, if you’re looking at the official offer letter, I would call them just to confirm.

Hi everybody!

I will attend SAAST this summer too! I got in nanotech ;D
We definitely should create an FB group, I can’t wait to meet you all!

Bye ;D

hi everyone, i got accepted to the biotech program as well. does anyone know how much like free time and stuff we’ll have? c:

It depends on what lab module we’re doing that day and how much homework we have… but we have 2 weekend trips so it’s alright =)

AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO STILL HASN’T GOTTEN A PENNKEY LETTER? D:

i haven’t gotten mine either, don’t worry. haha c:
hm i hope there won’t be too much work because i need to go running and i want to make friends. :p

Hey! Did anyone get his Pennkey setup code? Because I didn’t get mine :(

I didn’t either. They directed me to the PennKey website, but from what someone else told me, you have to get a setup code in the mail (real mailbox) first.

Oh okay. But do we have to request it or they’ll just send it to us? I’m kinda confused :s

I guess the problem is that SAAST either hasn’t entered our contact information into the system yet ==> no setup code ==> no PennKey. :frowning: You shouldn’t have to request that letter…

Well I called SAAST and they gave an email adress so that I can tell whoever’s in charge with this about my setup code issues… I sent them an email, didn’t get any response yet.
