UPenn SEAS Early Decision Acceptance rate?

Hey, I know this is fairly vague due to Upenn's lack of information on the topic, but what's the ED acceptance rate for the SEAS? I've read that the number lies around 40%, which makes sense (I've also read that the Bioengineering major has a ~10% acceptance rate, BS imo) due to the fact that the overwhelming majority of people applying to Penn apply to the CAS.
JHU is right around the number, but it is essentially a School of Engineering and Applied Sciences by itself.

Any input would be appreciated.

the overall acceptance rate for SEAS is ~16% for last year. They average the ED and the RD together. Unless, the RD is something ridiculously low, it is not possible for ED to be 40%. My guess is that its somewhere right around where the overall is at ~26%. Wharton brings the acceptance rate down, Nursing brings it up. CAS and SEAS are probably right around the reported.

Yeah, but schools like brown had rd rates right around 10%, right? Seems pretty darn low. Thanks.

Bump, btw. Also, do you think its harder to enter jhu or upenn seas?

In the acceptance letter it said that cas had a 8.7% acceptance rate.

I think upenn seas should be harder. When I was visiting colleges, I was told that jhu’s overall Ed rate was around 60%

JHU went apprx. 39% this year, i believe. I may be wrong about the exact number, but I am sure it is about 40.

Thanks for the CAS number, but the SEAS should be triple that, methinks. Penn engineering is not what most hardcore engineers are looking for, but its programs fit me perfectly.

I noticed that Penn Engineering’s site has posted that “There were a total of 6,141 freshman applications for the Class of 2015.” This compares to 4791 last year, of which 811 (16.9%) were admitted. I have never seen ED vs RD specific numbers, however.

anyone know what the ED rate would be for warton?

bump 10char

Around 10% for wharton.

bump for my question i meant, not the wharton one. you can actually look that up: <a href=“LMGTFY - Let Me Google That For You”>LMGTFY - Let Me Google That For You;

what about an ED rate for CAS? is it higher than the SEAS rate? Bc im torn between majoring in biochem or bioengineering…

I’m wondering too…what’s the ED rate for CAS?

Not sure about the actual number, but the difficulty goes like this:

Hardest → Easiest
Wharton ~10%
CAS ~15-20%
SEAS ~25-30% (40% seems kind of high?)
Nursing ~35-40%

Good luck to everybody!

Is that ED? ^

^yes, penn seems to have a higher ED acceptance rate than most other universities
