My essay is about 620 words. Would you see that's too much on the long side or will it be okay?

mine is about the same.

P.S. How do you handle the section that asks for the list of your classes? Do you just ignore the labels under them (maths,language...) ?

Oh wow, Diablo47. I had the very same concern and was going to post something on CC about that. I guess we should just ignore the labels. They'll get the message. But I mean for like Science I'm obviously going to put Introductory Biology II and for Math I can put Statistics.

mine is at 870 words... too long? it's like 5100 characters w/spaces and the limit is 7900 w/ spaces so i thought it was within the normal range, but if you guys are worrying that 620 is too long...

hi fixyou, that's right.
but I only have four classes going while it requires me to fill in all five blanks. What should I put in the last one? n/a ?

I followed the one page guideline as opposed to the 7900 character limit.

one page guideline?? where did you see that? do they want it single spaced?

Answer the appropriate essay question: (do not exceed one page.)

4b. For Transfer Applicants only: The Common Application asks for an essay explaining your reasons for wanting to transfer. Now please write an essay that describes the courses of study and unique characteristics fo the University of Pennsylvania that most interest you. An evaluation of your college education to date and why your educational goals may be better served at Penn should be addressed.

I am CERTAIN that they mean 1 page single spaced. That has got to be the case. I'm calling first thing Monday morning to double check with admissions. Otherwise, I have just over 2 pages double spaced, roughly 705 words.

How were you guys able to write "An evaluation of your college education to date"?

After writing my essay, I mentioned how my educational goals may be better met at Penn, but didn't really make an "evaluation" of my experience this year.

Just wondering what you guys wrote to answer this question.

Did you guys write the main essay creatively or was it pretty straightforward?

Mine was straightforward. I called admissions about the one-page thing, and they said it's one page SINGLE SPACED, but I can write more if I feel the need to. This sucks, cause mine is just a little over 2 pages (I really want to be at Penn...) so I better get editing.

Guys, get back to my old SAS post!
