UPENN Testing

Hi. Im a junior looking to apply to Penn next year ED in SEAS. However, on the Penn website, it recommends that students take the SAT II Math and Physics. I have no problem with the math and I'm currently taking Physics but my school doesn't cover the topics of electro magnetism, which is a major component of the Physics test. I really have no idea what to do? Should I attempt to self study for June? Thanks all responses are welcome.

Order a prep book online (you can get used Princeton or Barron’s books for like 3 bucks on Amazon) and self study it over the summer. If you feel like you don’t have time to learn it for June, just take the test in October.

Hi, I’m using my mom’s account but I’m a senior who was accepted to SEAS at Penn. I didn’t take the Physics subject test because I’m in AP this year and hadn’t covered enough material by the fall. I can’t speak for anyone else, but I still was accepted without it. I took Chemistry, Biology, and both Math tests instead. Self study is an option obviously, but just wanted to let you know that you can definitely get in without it :)

My S was accepted SEAS and he took Chemistry Biology and Math as well and also took the ACT and did very well on the Science section. He didn’t take Physics for the same reasons you mentioned.

@kbolisetty23 thanks for that. I think that might be a legitimate idea. I think that I would be more prepared then

@mamalumper @livn487 Today my physics teacher told me to think about Chemistry. I might look into that. Its been a year but I think that I can pull it off. Thank you
