I am interested in studying international affairs. I was admitted to UPenn (college), Columbia (college also), and Georgetown (School of Foreign Service). I wanted to see if anyone had any perspective on which would be best. I am leaning towards Georgetown due to the specialization of the School of Foreign Service, but I know the other two are considered "better" schools overall.

probably Georgetown, but this is based simply on their location (washington D.C.)...not any research into their programs

Yes, the location of Georgetown is perfect. Is it common for people to turn down Ivy's?

For SFS its common enough.

For your major--Georgetown--hands down--IMHO

Georgetown or Columbia.

I don't think NYC will hold you back, however, Georgetown sounds like a great fit for you.

All 3 are superb.

Penn's is still the best :D

Thanks everyone for your advice. Although I feel terrible about forgoing Columbia, I think Georgetown (... prestige aside) would probably be the best option.

I love how you say prestige aside. Makes it seem like Georgetown is community college or something. Do you know how many kids would quite literally give a few fingers for a spot at Georgetown SFS?
