I am a female junior in high school, and as a division 1 recruit I have the chance to commit in July to either Upenn or
Harvard. I can only commit to one, and I am trying to figure out which school is the best fit for me. I am not sure what I want to study as an undergraduate, but if I were to go to Upenn I think I would apply to the College of Arts and Sciences (and maybe end up going for a duel degree). Academically, I know each school is outstanding, and I know each can give me a great education and open doors for me. So, I am basing my decision more off of life at each school. Let me tell you a little bit about myself, and tell me which school you think would be a better fir for me.

In high school I would consider myself pretty popular, but also very motivated. I take hard classes and do well, but also manage to be social and have a good time. I'm not the loudest person, but I like to go out and party/drink when I can. I dress pretty well, and would consider my fitting with a more social stereotype in school (sometimes I stand out in all my A.P. classes because people don't expect me to be smart/nerdy). I think people at my school would describe me as laid back and "chill" despite my over-achiever attitude etc. (I usually keep that side of me on the inside. I am not one to freak out before a test or brag about grades/accomplishments to people). I really don't fit in with any clique, and one thing about high school that I don't love is how cliquey people can be. Although I have my set of close friends, I am friends with a diverse set of kids at my school. Other than that, I have a lot of school spirit; I wear my high school gear all the time, and love going to games and cheering in the stands.

I want to be successful professionally for sure, but although it is cheesy and idealistic I want to make a difference in the world. I am not looking for a school where connections will make me rich per se; I really want my connections to give me the opportunity to make changes and provide help somewhere in our world.

After doing research it seems like Upenn fits my social life of going out more and partying, but I am sure Harvard will have a social scene too even if it is less apparent (I know people on the Harvard team that have told me at least as a team they have parties all the time). Basically I need to know if the name and prestige of "Harvard" really outweighs Penn so much that if I have the chance to go, it would be a mistake not to.

That was probably way more than anyone needed to know, but if you have an opinion or can provide any guidance to me it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanksss
