UPenn

Ok this is kind of general, but UPenn is my #1 choice, but I'm pretty torn between the Jerome Fisher M&T Program (Business & Engineering) and the Huntsman program (Business & International Studies). My background, ECs, and classes align much better with the Huntsman program, but I 'm more interested in the M&T program, and I think it's much more practical and useful for me. In addition, the biggest problem is that I don't have the Physics SAT II, which is strongly recommended but not required for the M&T program. I haven't taken physics since freshman year and there's no way I can get a good enough score taking it next fall. Anyone familiar with the program please help me out! Is there like no chance for me without that test and should I stick with Huntsman instead?

Just my background stats, even though not really necessary for this question:

Hispanic Upper Middle Class at Competitive Public School

SAT: 2330
SAT II:
Math 2 C - 800
Spanish - 800 (native speaker)
US History - 800
** If applying to Huntsman I'll be taking Chinese & probably get in the low 600s

APs
Spanish - 5
Art History - tbd (prob 5)
Stats - tbd (prob 5)
US History - tbd (maybe 5)
Next year I'll be taking: English, Physics C, Calc BC, US Gov, and Econ

Grades are all As & A+s

ECs (everything is all 4 yrs)
DECA - 3rd place state (Finance); 1st place state & top 10 nationally (Food Marketing); chosen to do my chapter's International Business Plan Research Project
High School Newspaper - Business Manager (raise $8k yearly in subscriptions & ads)
Red Cross Club - President & VP
Chinese Club - Treasurer
Stock Market Club - President & Secretary
Class Council - member
Studied Mandarin at chinese university last summer in Beijing

Work
Intern at company in Beijing this summer

Your experience with Chinese will definitely help you in terms of the dual degree programs, as do your business-related ECs. However, I don’t see much interest in engineering. So if you can really convey what makes you a good candidate for M&T through your essays (combining engineering AND business), you have a good chance. I’d say you already have an above average chance at Huntsman.

M&T- Reach. (slightly higher)
Huntsman- Reach. (slightly lower)
Remember that these are EXTREMELY competitive! Good luck!

Chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1517874-summer-chances-yale-brown-etc.html

That’s what I was thinking but I really want to major in Computer Science. I think I can write a pretty good essay for M&T but I don’t know if that’s enough without both engineering-type classes/ECs and the Physics Subject Test. I know both programs are extremely selective though so I don’t know if I should take my chances with M&T. Soo torn.
