@mommdc —Agreed. Average freshman engineering GPA after 1 semester at Pitt engineering = 2.98.
And these are already some of the highest stat kids coming in. Most of them have never had a B ever and tippy top stats 1450 +.

Any idea as to when Chancellor’s Scholarship decisions come out? I submitted my app for the scholarship 11/26. Obviously, I’m expecting it’ll be a while.
@IAmDan — my daughters submitted her Chancellor’s essays a week or so after Thanksgiving and was invited for her interview on 1/27 of last year Invites come via email.
Those not selected to interview receive a snail mail letter at some point.

We finally received word for my D.
$15,000/year (Dietrich), in-state, Chancellors invite.
Stats: 35 ACT, 4.0 UW, NMSF (but I don’t think they know that), lots of AP classes.

I do not think Pitt will come through for us so it looks more like Ohio State with the amazing Morrill Scholarship might be the one. …Happy for all of you and the many more great news to follow for the many others

@Winky1 That is awesome. Yes, OSU has been quite efficient in the way they have communicated with us. She was admitted in the first go around on Nov 17 followed by the direct admit to business school followed by the scholarship on Dec 1. Very exciting for sure. A few other schools have been equally efficient with their correspondence… The whole process has a mind of its own. It is full of surprises and quite unpredictable . It is kind of a lottery as well. Some schools are more holistic in their approach and some other schools are purely stats driven.
Seeing all the fantastic IN- state merit awards makes me smile. Pitt SHOULD give their in-state students solid merit.
