Upitt merit scholarship results 2022

Congrats!! @CValle and @virginiadude …good to see Chancellor’s nominations have started…
@AmyBeth68 , soon, I am sure.

Thanks! And once more congrats to @CValle and all the others who got merit scholarships!
Best of luck to those still waiting!

@virginiadude , that’s awesome. Congratulations. When did you apply?

Thanks, I submitted the Coalition on October 11, received letter of admission on Oct. 26.

@virginiadude - CONGRATS! So exciting to start to hear the scholarships coming in. I am sure you worked hard these last few years! Best of luck!

Just got my letter. $25,000/yr with chance to apply for Chancellor’s…

OOS, SAT 1550, ACT 35, 3 well-written short answers (I spent at least 3 hrs on each), 3.73 UW but 4.00 junior year w/ 3 APs, 5 varsity sports team captainships (it’s a small school), other vaguely good ECs. Visited once and emailed my local rep. Good luck to everyone!

Congratulations to all who have been granted merit. Very exciting!

My son got his letter today! It offers full tuition (no Chancellor’s). We were all excited and happy.
He was accepted to Dietrich and honors college.
He also got a letter last week offering him guaranteed admission to the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs (contingent on grades/GRE), which was quite unexpected as we didn’t know they did that.

His stats are: OOS, SAT 1580 (superscored), 4.0 UW / 4.26 weighted, I think 10 APs and one dual enrollment, sports/arts/volunteer ECs, answered two short-answer questions, did not visit.

congratulations!!! Wonder the criteria’s of getting a Chancellor’s nomination?! Your son sounds like off the charts!

Thanks so much, @ashto12 ! It could be the essays get weighed heavily, and ECs revealed by them - his essays were pretty good, but only talked about one of his ECs in them, and Pitt doesn’t have places to list other ECs on the application. That’s just my guess. Or it could be visits and/or contacts, which he hadn’t done. He wasn’t thinking he’d get a nomination, so no disappointment there - the merit award is very good without it.

I was just accepted today to be a Helen Faison Scholar! Full tuition and average room and board, $2,000 for either research or study abroad, and $500 book award. I was also invited to apply to the guaranteed admissions medical program!

I’m an IB student with 1530 SAT, 4.4 GPA. I have a few writing awards, and have had a few experiences in medical research.

This is so unexpected but amazing!! University of Pennsylvania is still my first choice since I applied ED, but if I’m rejected from Penn, I’m 100% going to Pitt!

I see most on here with near perfect ACT/SAT/GPA, was wondering if anyone with lower stats have received scholarships. I am OOS, 31 ACT, 3.8UW/4.2W, 6 APs already taken, etc. Was accepted to Honors College & am not sure if I will receive a scholarship.

Does anyone have a link or can anyone just post the requirements/standard statistics for merit aid? I have a 3.97UW 4.16W GPA and a 1470 SAT (I’m also in state), but I’m rank 45/330. Do I have a chance?

15k/year and nomination for Chancellor’s
Stats: in-state, 1580 SAT, 4.0 unweighted

25k/year, no nomination for chancellor’s
OOS, 1560 SAT, 4.0 UW

Was really hoping for chancellor’s but definitely can’t complain about the 25k

I’m not really upset about not getting nominated because I probably wouldn’t have gotten the scholarship anyway, but I am worried that they might have thought my short answers sucked because my short answers were very similar to the other essays I sent to colleges : /

Notifications will keep going out until March.

if you do not hear by March, and you receive merit at another similarly priced school, is there a way to write to the scholarship committee to petition for merit aid? My d has all good stats except a lower sat score but has so much to offer and is very passionate( i know we all feel that way about our kids)

I was offered full tutition with chancellors nomination !!!
OOS 33 ACT 3.8 UW GPA

@avokaidos Congratulations!!!

@avokaidos That’s amazing. Congrats! What major?
