UPitt, Stevens or Lehigh

I was wondering if you guys could help me a pick a college to go to. I am going into computer engineering and I am not sure which school has the best program or if the differences in prices would be worth it.

I have in-state tuition for UPitt but I have heard that their computer science program was not the best. I know that Stevens has a good program but it is expensive and I would have to live on campus all four years due to the price of the housing in Hoboken. Lehigh has a good career outcome and I would be able to live off campus but their C.S. program has lost a lot of employees and I don’t know how that would affect the education.

All of the schools have good co-op programs but for Lehigh and Stevens, I would have to do a summer session which I am not too hyped about. UPitt has a program where I would have to graduate a semester later but that doesn’t really matter to me. I am just concerned that I wouldn’t get the same degree of experience through Pitt’s program compared to the others. Pitt would be the cheapest option but I also want to get a good job out of college and I couldn’t find degree break downs of starting salaries for Pitt.

Any advice would be much appreciated, thank you in advance.

Pitt is an excellent school. While Lehigh and stevens have a better name, Pitt is no slacker. What’s most important is you taking advantage of every opportunity you get. Also, you don’t want to go too far into debt for undergrad.

How much is Lehigh? Can you afford it? I would rule Stevens out since it’s too expensive.

What size school do you want? If you want a smaller school Lehigh might be for you. Would you like to be in an urban or rural setting? If you want an urban setting, Pitt is for you. Do you want big sports or school spirit? Then Pitt. Do you want a party scene? Then Pitt (you can always find your niche at bigger schools though.)

Personally, I’d pick Pitt. Pitt was my dream school but I couldn’t afford it. However, if Lehigh is similar in cost and you feel it is a better school then maybe it’s the one. Have you toured both?

Are you a senior or junior?
