cc77, take upitts program over penn's m&t
you won't regret it
pitt's med school is one of the top in the nation and anyone would love a guarunteed spot to that med school

wow I can't see anyone NOT taking pitt over anything else. I have the mail on my counter right now, but I'm waitin for my parents to open it w/ me haha. I'll post regardless of whether I got in or not.

Yea....... i didn't get in.

oh well, unless I have successful appeals, I'm goin to drexel's combined prog :)

i didn't get in either...:( but i had franki williams too! and she asked me the same questions and said the excat same thing about people who didn't have fun, etc., lol

cc77...yeah, pitt's prg. is a golden opportunity...and i think med school is free if you're in the program? i'm pretty sure....and that's nothing small, lol ESPECIALLY as it's UPMC...i'd take it:)

med school isnt free - and you would still have to spend four years with a high gpa. there's no real advantage besides not having to take the mcats, and in a profession with a multitude of standardized, there's no sense in trying to avoid just one of them.

at the same time, im truly torn; it's an honor to be accepted to a top 15 med school, regardless of if you went to the ivies or not.

3.7 GPA+ 30 MCAT doesn't get you into pitt's med school. I'm pretty sure you DO still have to take the MCAT (that's what my parents said at least)

I'd take the program.

3.75 gpa and no mcat; i asked

i'm in a similar predicament...upitt guaranteed med with a full tuition but not chancellor scholarship for undergrad vs. mit.. vs..usc's bach/md with a full tuition for undergrad....does anybody have any suggestions?

I think i want to major in engineering (biomed...) and myabe minor in business...

and..btw..I had franki williams also

so..wut do u guys think? Financial aid does not have that much significance....if I choose an undergrad with full tuition..then my rents'll pay for medical school...elsewise i have to take a loan out for medical school...

i want to major in business and engineering too, which makes my program a fit for my interests.

although, with the pitt guarantee, you can easily major in what you want, and having your parents pay for medical school isnt bad either.

wow, senior0007. take one of the two programs. definitely. I'd take pitt's just b/c the med school is better, but that's slightly a personal preference as well.

Pitt's med school is one of the top 10 in the country. I would take it, especially since you won't have to worry about debt, which can weigh new MDs down for years.
