im narrowing down my list of schools and i want to know which of these would be better for Chemical/Bio Engineering and Neuroscience. Rutgers is an hour away from me, will pitt is about 6. rankings i have read put Rutgers slightly over pitt, but im assuming thats based on fame. any advice is appreciated.

Add Drexel and Rowan into my question too, forgot to mention those, which are both really close to me as well.

any advice/help would be much appreciated (bump)

bump (10char)

Pitt has one of the BEST neuroscience programs around. Not sure about engineering.

I'm currently a 3rd year BME at Rutgers. I can't compare it to Pitt but I can tell you about the program here. The building we have is brand new and is by far the nicest building on all of the campuses here. Coming in as freshman the c/o 2009 had about 150 kids in it..I think as of last week we were down to 75-80. Classes freshman/sophomore year are huge, as expected. As a junior, you take almost exclusively classes within the major so you get to know everyone(aka a small school environment).

It is hard but all the professors I've had are very helpful and hold open office hours. Research and internship opportunities are plentiful here as professors/grad students are always looking for help and so many biotech companies are very close to campus.

Overall it is set to become a very strong program. The facilities are there. The surroundings are there. 11 new faculty have been hired in the last 5 years.

Pitt BioE is supposed to be decent I think...hmm I should know this, I go there.
