I have few out of state transcripts and letter of recommendation in sealed envelopes.

I have applied to UT for fall 2014 transfer admissions

My question is
The UT website states I should upload front and back of transcripts
Would not opening and then scanning make them unofficial
Is that ok with UT admissions

I believe that everything in sealed envelopes cannot be opened and should be mailed sealed.

Your teacher doesn’t want you to see his/her letter, otherwise it will not be sealed.

Official transcript has to be sent directly from your school’s registrar office, if they gave it to you then you have to mail it in the original sealed envelope.
That’s what our registrar told us.

You can call UT and ask what “copy of an official transcript” means and if it’s OK to open a sealed envelope.

Hey UT applicants,
I had the same dilemma when i was applying as a transfer.
Firstly UT does accept uploaded document, they just need an uploaded document of transcripts and mark sheets.
Once you get accepted, you are required to submit an original transcript in a sealed envelope, in order to get admitted, but for the admissions, a scanned copy works.
They even recommend uploading, because that’s easier and faster for them to review.
UT also has a system where u send a link to your professor, who can open it and upload the recommendations
Don’t fret guys, Admission to UT is hell difficult, the least they are doing is making the process of admission relatively simpler than others.
