Uploading Resume: Formatting for Hartt

Hi All
Just found this forum and boy do I wish I had known about it two months ago when we started the app process and had to learn a life's worth of college prep in 60 days... The good news = at least I'll be able to pay it forward and try to help other new Senior parents navigate more easily than I did.

Well, we're down to submitting the last out of 17 apps with the boy so I'm about to pop a champagne cork - don't worry, I have another bottle reserved for audition day AND another for acceptance day - we celebrate in stages around here...

Anyway, on to my Question:
Hartt's online application (not common app) is requiring resume information be input into a small drop down box. No way to upload a pdf :o( When I cut and past the formatting from Word it lands all over the place. Do I assume it will sort out when they print or am I going to have to retype everything into the drop down? Also, if I do have to type into the drop down, that will seriously limit formatting - so... do I just left margin everything and use alot of hyphens (Rent - Angel - XYZ Theatre - 2010)??????

Help :o)

I’m assuming musical theater based on “Rent”, not music or dance. Try here [Musical Theater Major - College Confidential](Musical Theater Major - College Confidential Forums), (or if nothing, the dedicated music forum or the dance forum). Mine is a Hartt (music) grad, but twas before the online apps, so I can’ tell you if it will sort itself out format wise.

You can also try a private message to stradmom, whose d applied last cycle and is at Hartt. Granted, the performance resume is structured differently than an mt one, but might be worth checking with her just from an experience standpoint. Again, not sure if she used the online app, but it might be worth a shot.
