Did a lot of u guys get a piercing or tattoos? i plan on getting an industrial bar...been wanting that since forever :p

i got a tatt and my tongue pierced haha but over a period of time. THey are fun!

I’ve thought about a tattoo, but I kinda don’t want my mom to find out and withdraw her college contributions.

I just plan on buying ccigarettes, going to a dance club, a strip club, and going to the casino.

haha i got my tattoo in a spot that can be covered up if necessary. haha 18 is the best age really i loved it.

Shayla-what did you get and where? I kinda want a hot pink kiss around my hipbone

I saw an ellipse and got excited. I plan on playing an intense game of Texas Hold 'Em and winning big. For some reason, people really underestimate female poker players and…I really can’t complain.

There are no tattoos or piercings that I actually want.

ahhh i refuse to gamble!! I would be terrible and put myself in debt!!

I got a really pretty portrait style small eye on the back of my neck!! its in the perfect spot…wont wrinkle, discreet if necessary and sexY!
A hott pink kiss would be sweet! I have seen somethin like that in various places but never on the hip-bone…how cool!

Yeah I think it would be a good spot because it would be hidden under my pants and even under a swimsuit. I’m more of a fan of the tattoos that you have to make an effort to show. I also like the ones on the back of necks, but i’d be too afraid of it going bad and ending up paralyzed or something.

i was planning to get some kind of piercing on my birthday but i decided it would probably get in the way more than i’d enjoy it. i might eventually get a tattoo if i have a symbol/something that holds significance for me.

Ha, I turn 18 in june, and when I do I am getting a tattoo on my angle probably (small one) and tiny gauges in my ears. My mom told me she would not pay for college if I got either of them…her reasoning: tatoos are stupid and prevent you from getting good jobs, and piercings on guys a look stupid because they are for girls

My replies were:
- Shut up
- Who wears shorts to interviews? I wanna be a freakin professor where almost anything goes.
- What makes ear piercings only for girls?
- I dont care what you think about me getting ears pierced cause you are old (47, but who is counting)
- You don’t have to see me cause i will be all the way across the country.
- You were born in the 60’s so you have no taste.
- You havent had a job in over 25 years so what do you know?
- You went to junior college 4 1 year and dropped out.
- You are American, and the American idea of style is plastic and show all the skin possible.
- Dad wouldnt allow for you to cancel my education funding just because of how i looked.
- I have the most ambition and the best grades of all your children and you wouldnt destroy my shot at life for a stupid reason.
- If my education isnt payed for because you don’t like how I look, have fun being old and needing money, cause I won’t support you a dime.

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY
13. You have no legal control over my college education funding because Dad’s super-rich Grandmother is paying for my education, not you and Dad, so be quiet.

so…BIGTWIX…are you getting the tattoo to make a point that it is your life/your body? or to irritate your Mom? or you really want a tattoo? IMHO you are expending a lot of energy on the first two if its really about the third position.

No, I really do want a tatoo, and I really want to get my ears pierced.
My tatoo is either gonna be something religious, or a barcode with significant numbers at the bottom.
I just got these threats a week ago when I told my mom what i was going to do, and I was kind of suprised.

As for the actual conversation, it wasnt really has blunted as I told it. There was no “shut ups” or anything like that. Mostly just me telling my mom that she doesnt have control over my college funds and that as much as I respect her, I think some of her ideas about what is cool/looks good, or detrimental are ludicrous conservative ideas and that I won’t let her opinion about something I feel strongly about affect my choice to live for myself.

Oh, and I love to argue and beat people with my brain, especially adults with the “adults are smarter” complex.

Bigtwix you sound like you’re a huge jackass to your parents. College education is a privilege not a right and you honestly just sound like a brat when you criticize her education.

They ( your family)are able and do for pay for your education and you don’t even respect her enough to keep a few simple wishes. You’re very fortunate that your parents have money and you just take it for granted. Maybe it’s because of your background or being on CC, but I think you forgot that not all families can do that.

And it’s so damn sad that you’d cast aside the people that took care of your for so long just to get back at them. It only makes me appreciate how my culture emphasizes family even more. I hope your grandmother doesn’t find out how disrespectful you are to them.

And you’re not American? You definitely sound like a typical spoiled American rich kid.

I never have problems with my dad.

I didn’t actually talk about my mothers college education or lack.

I respect you calling me a jackass because I often sound like one…I’m a very sarcastic person.

I have the greatest respect for people who beat the odds in going to colleges. I have tons of respect for people who have to pay their own way for college, and I am so grateful that I am blessed with many opportunities I have.
5.They arent paying for my education.

I would help my parents out anytime, I only said i wouldnt give her a dime as a counter threat, although i wouldnt.

The way I wrote how the conversation went was misleading, as the little argument/discussion was pretty chill, and made her think about why she would hate for me to get piercings/tatoos, and made her evaluate the validity of her ideas.

My grandmother has cataracts and cannot hear for her life. She also does not know who I am anymore. We just visited her a month ago and she didnt remember that her husband died 5 years ago.

I am American, fed up with corruptness of the political system, the ridiculous image the media influences women to become/look like, the ultra-conservative views expressed by some of my family members that are solely influenced by religious influence, not well thought out reasoning. And I am tired of the path that American moves down.

When people ask me what nationality (expecting my answer to be where my ancesters are from:portugal, norway, germany), i say I am American.

But I am fed up with many of the ideas so forcibly thrust upon the majority of the nation, and consider myself an American, yet not one of the same that makes up America.

Think what you like of me, for I will never see you in real life.
Im done:)

here some other “fun” stuff you should do upon turning 18

register for the selective service (sorry guys)
check your passport expiration date, and if expiring soon, get a new one that lasts 10 years
don’t do something to SPITE someone, jusst because you legally can

get all your shots
learn about contracts- since NOW you will be legally responsible for yourself, so you better understand what that means

there’s more, but me guesses that is enough for now

legal porn! hooray!

Well at least we know that the girl above can count! About the register to vote and register for Selective Service; those were the first two things I did when I turned 18; IMHO there is no more important thing than to take an active role in the selection of our government officials. If you don’t vote and you could’ve, I lose quite a bit of respect for you. Get informed and vote!

Why? One vote rarely makes a difference

That’s weird, I thought I quoted the

part. I guess it was later than I thought!
