Upper-division courses Credit from CSU to UC. Do they count?

I’ll be asking a counselor about this tomorrow, but just wanted to know if anyone knew.

I’m almost at the 80/90 unit cap with lower division classes, but I have 9 units of upper division classes.

How would I know if they’re UC-transferable or not?

Thank you.~

Unfortunately you won’t know whether or not they transfer until after you are accepted. I had the same issue last year with UCLA. I was accepted in April, but did not find out which upper division CSU courses transferred until July.

So for you, did they transfer all the upper-division courses you took at the CSU?

I called UCSD and they said that they do transfer all upper-divisions, but if you have more than 30 units of upper-division unit/credits, they’ll deny your admission.

I made sure I stayed right under the total unit cap which for UCLA is 86.5. There was one class that they initially didn’t give me credit for, but I submitted a petition, and ultimately they gave me credit. So I transferred a total of 85 units, 18 of which were upper division.

Okay, thank you for your reply! I called Irvine and Davis today and the way they figure that stuff out is they have to check the course descriptions and see if they match, only then will they consider it transferable.

So they told me, you can’t really know, like you said, until you get accepted. c:

Appreciate it!
