Upper division transfer to CSULB - spring 2014

Hi,

I just got my application to Cal State Long beach done for Spring 2014.

transfer GPA : 3.5

Major: Health Care Administration

What's my chance to get in ?

Im in the state, by the way.

i think you will get in, the cut off is around 3.3-3.4 for in-state for fall 2013.

Thanks !!!

I was told that all of the requirement course must be finished by summer for spring application , i still have one more core course need to be done this coming Fall… So really worried about it.

You should be good to go with a 3.5 I got in with a 3.6 which isn’t that far off.

If 3.3-3.4 is the cutoff makes me wonder why they list under requirements for admission, “Must have a minimum, overall college GPA of 2.00 or higher in all transferable college course work attempted.” Do they actually admit students with a 2.1 or 2.2?

the 3.3/3.4 is for genreal student, the minimum gpa requirement is the first filter. i do believe they do would admit student who have poor gpa, for example, Athletes.

Meoowww, what’s ur major ?

If you have a Golden Four course (Math, english, speech and something else), you need to have completed those by the end of summer. I have a 3.95 GPA and I was only missing a math class when I applied for Fall enrollment. I was denied acceptance for one class… I took math over the summer and now I have a 3.96 GPA waiting for a response… But yes, if you did not get the golden four done yet, you will not be accepted. If it was just GE course work (social sciences, art, etc.), then you might be able to get in with a good GPA… Best wishes!

I applied for transfer to CSULB with a laughable 3.0 GPA on 8/1/2013 after having finished the Golden Fours (English, critical thinking, speech and math) by Summer of 2013. I’m in the area and getting my Psychology AA-T by the end of this Fall term, and by doing so I get a GPA boost of .1 or so.

I got an acceptance letter by email on Saturday, 10/5/2013.

So…your chances are good with a 3.5 GPA if you haven’t already heard from them!

I got in with a 2.5. I spent 3 years at UCSB after high school and got kicked out with a 1.8 GPA. 1.5 years at CC (4.0 the entire way) and now I’m transferring in the Spring. :)

If I can get in, I’m sure anyone else with the minimum requirements (and local eligibility) can get in easily.

@stagecrewgod when u applied for fall did u put that you planned on completing math by spring?

i got rejected due to that one unfinished pre-required class :(

I applied for Fall again…

Same time, I got into FUllerton this Spring…
