Upper SSAT?

Does all grades that take the upper SSAT get the exact same tests? As example, would a student entering 9th grade get the same SSAT test as a student entering 11th grade?

It’s my understanding that, for a test type (e.g., upper level), all grades take a test from the same group of tests. There are multiple test forms (e.g., form A, B, C, etc.) and students use different forms even if in the same grade.

There’s an Upper SSAT that’s for grades entering 8-11(12? It’s been a while). I’m assuming that anyone in that grade level takes the test…which is somewhat scary for 8th and 9th graders considering they’ll have to study 11th grade stuff.

There are two versions of the test: one for middle schoolers, and other for high schoolers. They only have two versions otherwise they’d have to make separate test questions for each grade.

@HhopefulFforSsuccess2021 the scoring is scaled by grade (and also by gender), so even though kids of other grades take the test, each child is compared only against kids who would be entering the same grade.

Ooooh @CaliPops I thought the creator of this tread was only asking for the test context for 9th and 11th graders. Yes, I understand that each applicant’s scores are based off of comparing their performance to other same-grade applicants.

My fault. I mistakenly thought you were the OP.

@Calipops its okay
