I know Brown's a pretty big reach, but I'm applying there for the Brown-RISD dual degree program.

Your GPA is a bit low, which will hurt the most at the top UCs.

Berkeley: reach
UCLA: reach
UCSD: slight reach (50-50)
UCSB/UCD/UCI: high match
UCSC: safe match
UCM/UCR: safety
USC: slight reach

However, if there's a different admissions process for art students, you may have a better chance.

Brown is a very big reach because your GPA is low for an Ivy, even though your SATs and SAT2's are in the Ivy ballpark. On the other hand, if your portfolio was good, RISD would probably accept you in a heartbeat. So, I'd say that if your portfolio impressed the folks at RISD, you'll be accepted into the dual degree program. If they weren't impressed by your portfolio, then you won't.

As for NYU, I'd be very, very surprised if they didn't accept you. Very likely accepted there.

I think you have a really good chance at NYU. Brown is definitely a reach.

all you gotta do is give the admissions people a lapdance and you're in. duh, deborah, thought you'd know that by now. :)

I think you have a really good chance at NYU, less of a chance at brown b/c your gpa.

UCLA: Reach
UCSD: High Match
UCSB/UCD/UCI: Match
UCM/UCR: safety
USC: Reach
Brown: Reach

Your GPA needs to be higher

For the RISD/Brown dual degree program, each school has to accept you based on their own admission. RISD has a stiff addmission requirement of grades,EC, and test scores. But the biggest requirement will be the protfolio. Brown has its own set of high high hoops. The program will only have about 20 people in their frist year program of Fall 1008.
