Upperclassman who have taken 103X

Hi

Is there anyone, who wasn't so amazing at Olympiad Math
(AIME, USAMO), was just A+ kid in AP Calculus and
has never taken Multivariable or Linear Algebra before,
who did well in Math 103X?

yep...

friend of mine got an A- in 103x and then proceeded to get A- B in 107 108 with the normal kids.

i think 103x is quite inflated... it is hard as balls, though

Its a new prof this year so I can't say what the grading scale will be like for sure. I, however, probably had one of the lowest grades in the class and it was a B-. I proceeded to get B and B+ in 107/108. I guess the plus side is, and I'm only starting to appreciate this now, that 103X was quite possibly the hardest class I'll have to take in college, because everything I've done since has not been nearly as intense or stressful. Basically, I would go into those tests shaking I was so scared.

I found this year's 103X quite fun, but time-consuming. I don't get things instantaneously, so I have to pre-read and recopy notes to do well in this class. It's quite nice to see where formulas all come from.. But w/ my intensive schedule this semester, I'm wondering whether I absolutely need to take this class at this time of my life. Kinda sounds scary and nice at the same time - that math 103x turned out to be hardest course. I plan to take 4 extremely hard, diverse classes this semester, but take it bit easier 2nd semester, and focus on what I like more.
