Ups 2017

DS accepted today! Very pleased for him.

Daughter got a great offer but is waiting to see all her responses.

Accepted into UPS. 2090 SAT superscore, 31 ACT, 4.0 W/3.7 UW GPA.

Not initially one of my top choices, but as I look into it more and more I’m starting to love UPS. Still got 7 schools to hear back from though

Had my heart set on it for months but it’s just not economically feasible- I’m left with 19k to cover myself (on top of loans), despite a 15k scholarship and an EFC of 0. How’s aid been for others?

It was a reach too, with my 3.3 W, 3.0 UW, upward trend, 1800 SAT and a great interview.

Daughter received generous academic and music scholarships so UPS is $12K/yr less than Lewis and Clark, Whitman, Oberlin; $7K less than St. Olaf or Ursinus and on par with Guilford. She loves all the colleges but also lloves the Northwest and I think the award will tip the balance towards Puget Sound!

Upstreaming, we were in a similar situation, with our daughter having to choose between three wonderful colleges with excellent music programs – Puget Sound, Oberlin, and St. Olaf. In the end she went with Puget Sound, and we are all very happy with her decision.
