Now I slacked off my freshman and softmore year and ended up with like a 3.0 uw and a 3.2 w. I decided to get my act together and pulled a 4.0 and 4.4 for the semester! Now would colleges maybe disregard my past and focus on how I am doing now. I would love to go to UF or FSU but my overall gpa is like a 3.5 now with that 4.4. I guess my real question is how much do they take in consideration of a upward trend like that?

Well I don't know, but I hope a lot, I'm in sorta the same boat as you, however it was only my Freshman year I slacked off, and I have a 3.8 Weighted.

A guy went to Princeton with a 3.2, 3.2, 3.9, 4.0.

It really really really is easier said than done though.

so theres hope?

Yea like everyone gets into FSU. You have a good shot at UF too.

Not everyone gets into Florida State or UF.

FSU: *The middle 50% of the Fall 2008 accepted freshman class is: 3.7-4.2 GPA; 1190-1330 SAT (Critical Reading plus Math); 26-29 ACT.

The top quartile of our Fall 2008 accepted freshman class rivals any selective school in the nation with an average GPA of 4.43, and average SAT of 1398 (Critical Reading plus Math), and an average ACT composite of 31.*

But recent improvement in academic courses is a plus.
