Upward Trend

Should I have explained messing up my first semester of college in the additional comments?

I didn't really have a good reason for doing poorly so I just left it blank. I wanted to save them the redundancy of reading about a strong upward trend after they see it in my grades. They'll recognize it on grades alone right?

You could have mentioned it in your personal statement if there was a significant circumstance resulting in your poor grades.

Realistically though, they will notice your upward trend as it is not unusual for most students to have one.

Remember, they are professionals at what they do, so nothing will go unnoticed.

(i have talked to multiples admissions representatives)

That’s one of the biggest things they look for when looking at your transcript. So far you’re off to a good start.
